4Runner help

Well I have a 1999 Toyota 4Runner. I replaced the Neutral safety switch, the starter solenoid and I had the starter tested. It will not make a noise when I try to turn it on. I have to keep trying to start it then Eventually it will turn over. Where should I start look any ideas would be helpful. Thanks

 

Welcome to the forum, you could start checking you ground connections, but are you sure the battery is good?

 

Maybe the ignition key is shot?

Even with a half dead battery and iffy grounds...there is usually enough juice to make the starter relay "click".

I would jumper the starter relay directly to the battery to verify the relay is rotating the motor reliably. That would eliminate the relay and starter....and battery.

From there it's going to be something in the wiring between the battery and the relay or the key and the relay or the neutral safety and relay.

I use to have a car that before I figured out it had rotten battery cables...it wouldn't even click the starter relay either. Then it would start for no apparent reason. Battery cables rot from the inside out. You can't even see it.

If it makes just one click sound each time you turn the key then your contacts in your starter are shot. Cheap and easy to replace.

 

check ground...etc
