Thinking of ARB/OME 3” lift

Thinking of ARB/OME 3” lift for the ride. Anyone have experience with these overall and what’s a good size tire staying on 17s

OME seems to be a good workhorse suspension. The BP-51's are supposed to be excellent.

A 275/70/17 should fit with no issues. A 285/70 might require a body mount chop and some trimming. A "skinny" 255/80/17 is a tall 33' that sometimes fits with little to no trimming. This will depend on wheel offset and alignment among other factors, though.

People on this forum love helping out! Check out the suspension sub-forum for tons of ideas. There are a few very popular options worth looking into depending on how you want to use your 4runner.

 

At 3 inches of lift you can honestly fit as big as you want, contingent on how much chopping you want to do. You can go 35’s or bigger or for minimal work 285’s should just require a small body mount chop. Just keep in mind your wheel dimensions will greatly determine what work needs to be done to fit whatever tire size you choose.

 

I think 285's (or 255/80's) look best with that much lift.

Well i guess 35's would look great with that much lift too, but you'd probably want to re-gear going that big and I'm not sure if you want to get that involved.

 

I just put a 3” OME lift on a few days ago. I ordered some 285/70r17 Duck Cepek Trail Country’s and mounted them on my stock Trail Wheels. So far only rubbing is in reverse if I’m fully locked in turn. At the alignment it Zero’d out and came away perfect.

 

That’s awesome. I’m trying to stay away from having to chop. Did you get the light, medium, or heavy coils for the front and/or rear?

 

I went with the medium. I have a Victory Blitz on transit and my brothers winch sitting ready to be installed. Should be right about 100lbs in that mid range.

Diff Drop: Diff Drop

Front Coils: 885 Medium

Assembly with new Top mounts and Bushings/washers: ssembly with new Top mounts and Bushings/washers

Rear Coils: ToyTec light superflex

Rear Shocks: 60020 Shocks (use with superflex coils)

Add rear shock stone guards: Yes

 

I had the OME 3" kit on my 2018 and it was ok. I got the heaviest springs in the front and they failed miserably at holding the weight of my ARB Summit bumper w/ 10k Warn Zeon winch. I switched it to the Toytec Boss kit and the ride was better and it supported the weight of the bumper/winch way better.
