    All,

I've come to a point where I can now purchase a rear locking option for my T4R. My first option was a Aussie Locker; however I'm being talked out of that due to inclement weather we have up here for most of the year and my T4R is a DD. I've narrowed it down to either an ARB setup or E-Locker my budget is about $1,500 to include installation. Below I've included a link to East Coast Gear Supply and it's assembled 3rd for the Elocker, granted I know there will be other pieces to purchase to complete this method. What's your thoughts? Forget dicking around by piecing parts together and go ARB? Thanks guys.

Consider the Yukon Zip air locker as well. It is cheaper than the ARB. I'm running one in the front of my '85 with no issues so far.

Buy or pay someone to set the diff up for you, wether you pull your 3rd and ship/take it somewhere, or swap it with a core charge with ECGS. You can save a bit of money this way and it is really not too difficult if you know how to turn a wrench. Then just install your air source and run the air line to it.

Oh for the love of god. If you got 1500 bones for a rear locker than go with an ARB if you don't mind having to run an air compressor (tire filler device included with install) if your more of an electronics guy then go elocker. If you ever lock the from though your basically gonna have to go ARB so if that's the case match it up with a shiny ARB in the rear

I scored a used elocker for 250.....it might be used but its worth looking through salvage yards. That way you can add other goodies besides getting locked. Just a thought.

Arb. Or could go hardcore and try Detroit but not a good idea is daily driver. But full time locker means u could save install time and money.

You really can't go wrong with either the Toyota's E-locker or an ARB air locker. They both work off the same premise...but ones electric, the other is air. If you're going off cost...the ARB is going to be more money.

If it were me...I'd do OEM Factory electric in the rear...then do ARB air up front. Probably be able to do front and rear both with the amount of money you're talking about.

    Good luck Sir...and have fun!!
