Hey guys recently purchased a 98 SR5 4x4 4runner for my 17yr old. Great vehicle some rust as with most michigan vehicles but I could tell its a solid drivetrain so now Im trying to fix a few little bugs.
Ive looked on other forums but here it goes.

Cruise is not working, all lights on dash work and cycle through startup but NO cruise dash light.
I have checked all bulbs to make sure they work, all good.
I have checked brake fluid level and brake pedal mounted switch, all looks good.
I have checked all fuses, all good.
I have unplugged the harness to the cc module and it gets power across terminals when key is on plus a few get 12v while key off, so thats getting power.
I have read that the wire under the airbag may be a problem but usually the horn or other things are effected but on my vehicle all other things work fine just not cruise.
The cruise stem seams unbroken, buttons have resistance when pushing or turning or when pushing up or down.

I do have one other issue and trying to see if related, NO SPEEDO.

Speedometer does not work but tach, odometer and again all other dash functions great.

Just curious of both could be related and which direction to go.

I could not find this on here anywhere, maybe I wasn't searching correctly but would appreciate any help.

i suspect that the speedometer has a direct relation to cruise control. could be a faulty sending unit or wheel speed sensor which would affect the cruise control

Im kinda thinking in those terms also. Besides the wheel speed sensor, you mentioned a "sending unit" have any part number or reference picture I can see the part? I believe I saw a post about a sensor on the actual transmission but unable to find it this minute.
    Thanks for the reply.

im not totally sure what types of electrical components are used in the 3rd gen for cruise control, but did a little digging and found a spot you could possibly start at
