A lot of naysayers on this topic, but I have one in my Tundra on 35’s and it is the best $300 I spent. I plan to put one in my wife’s new 4Runner as well.

Every one of the naysayers have a fundamental misunderstanding of how this device functions. No matter how fast you mash the pedal, the computer only opens the throttle body butterfly at a predetermined rate unless you intercept that signal and speed it up. This is demonstrated in the Sprint Booster vs. Pedal Commander video that DRobs posted.

Did you ever end up getting a Sprint Booster?

^^This is exactly what I was going to respond with..^^ I have the Pedal Commander, and love it because I was tired of standing on the throttle, only to wait until the computer allowed me to accelerate. I leave mine in City +2 all the time. I feel the higher levels almost make it "twitchy". It feels to me like City +2 is the most natural way the truck is supposed to drive. Just my opinion though.. I do miss my '58 Chevy, no computer telling me when I can go..:annoyed:

I installed one in both my 4Runner & Jeep GC - love both of them - if you are worried about a decrease in miles per gallon maybe a Prius is more in line with what you want

So, the delay is built into the pedal, not the computer? I'm just curious..

If that's true, then that's a good selling point.

I say if you have $300 and it makes you enjoy driving the vehicle more, buy it. No need to rationalize it, just like I don't need to rationalize 33" tires.

For awhile, folks were claiming that it made the 4runner faster, which we know isn't true. But, it makes the pedal feel better, and that's worth it for some. I don't plan on getting one, but I'll bet I would probably want one if I drove with it for a week.

For now, I seem to have adapted to hitting the gas a split second early.
