Black Mat vinyl overlay as armor

I bought some vehicle wrap which I wanted to cut some strips and stick on near the drivers and passenger lower doors where rocks get kicked up and chip the paint. Toyota puts a clear protection wrap but it doesn't extend near the wheel well on the front fender, and stops short of the door by several inches.

I was also planning on adding a piece on the hood scoop to prevent the glaring issue.

Any thoughts on this, or tips/guidance ? Has anyone put this on their 4R to protect it?

Other areas I could see using it

Front and rear valance bumper (Alternative to painting the grey to black)
The small edge between the back hatch and valance (Dragging things out of the back can scratch the paint
The front plastic shroud gets beat up by rocks, I could see using some near the bottom

If done correctly the wrap should blend in fairly decent on a black vehicle and not look too patchy.

I added this wrap to protect the bottom of the door. Driving any gravel /washboard roads you are bound to get tons of rock chips outside the area of the OEM clear protector.
