Bought a 2000 for the kids. Have street Goodyear wranglers and want to change to an AT tire. Mostly street, but also able to have some hunting and heading to the hills.

Not a BFG fan, don't dis-like, just not overall Impressed with them previously.

Looking at Cooper or Falken or Mich.

My question is 4 or 6 ply? Or does it matter?

Run 10 ply on my LC because I tow with it, but seems over kills for the 4Runner.

    thoughts?

    Thanks
Planning on buying some Cooper AT3 in 265/75-16. The tires shops seems to say 4 ply is fine unless serious off roading or carrying/towing big loads.

Will there be plenty of room for mud chains?
