Hi everyone! I just installed some lights on my 4r. One of the switches light stays illuminated when the light bar isn’t on. Can someone suggest a fix? Maybe I wired it wrong? While I try to fix this issue, I’ve disconnected the connectionbecause I’m worried the light being on constantly (even when my 4r is off) willcreate a battery issue. Thank for the help in advance! :)

Well guess you should start by letting us know what you followed to wire it up.

If you used this one below. I'm going to assume you wired Red #2 to a constant 12V causing it to be lit 24/7 instead of only when your lights are on.

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
I have a Cali Raised Light Bar and use their corded fob through the firewall. There is a red light that is always on.
    No issues with my battery.

I put a set of KC ditch lights on my Nissan Frontier. They came with a switch (also via cord) that goes dark when not in use. I've been tempted to swap controllers between the 2.

If I add chase lights etc, I may get one of these wireless controllers:
    https://triggercontroller.com/

However, it too will draw from the battery when the vehicle is not on.

A quick update. I tried playing around with the wiring. Removed Red #2 from the mix and the light still illuminated when the light bar was no turned on.

Check the wiring diagram from Caliraised. I had a similar issue with my ditch light switch. It was a wiring error on my part.

Does the light bar work with the one red removed?

Yes, the light bar works when I remove Red #2.

Weird. So, at the switch you have green connected to power, red #1 to your relay, black to ground, and red #2 is capped off?

My only guess is that you have red #1 to power instead of the relay. I think this is what I did. By connecting power to the output side, the indicator light is being fed constant power. The switch would still operate normally, but the light would remain on constantly.

    Correct.

Now I’m thinking that the terminals weren’t installed properly on the wiring harness

Did you try switching red#1 and green around? I think that might fix it.

No problem! That's what this forum is all about. I believe I did the exact same thing with my ditch light switch.

What kind of light bar did you get?

I received a 20” DV8 light bar from a friend and mounted it behind my grill.

Thank goodness for you and this forum!
