So I'm a bit confused on what I need to run length wise in the rear on Fox lift kits.

Getting Factory 2.5 coilovers for the front with 0-3" of lift and will max it out at 3". The confusing part is what I need in back. The Factory 2.5 rears only do 0-1.5". I want the truck to sit level. No more factory rake. My installer says if I do a 3" in front, he would install 2" lift coils in the rear to sit level. My connection at Fox says I need 1" lift coils in the rear to sit level.

So here is the confusing part. If I install 2" coils in rear, will the Factory 2.5's @ 1.5" of lift work? Or do I Have to get the performance level at 2-3" of lift? I notice that most kits that do the Factory 2.5's up front do the Performance 2.0's in the rear.

Both the company who will do my install and Fox really know their stuff. The place here in town specializes in Toyotas and are very good. I'm just not sure which direction to go.

    Help!!

if you do 2” coils in the rear you’ll be fine. The shop will adjust the front to sit level. Just make sure you get the rear shocks to accommodate the lift. Fox should make a shock to accommodate 1.5-3” of lift.

but it just depends on the height you’re trying to achieve. If you only wanna raise the rear an inch and raise the front to level with the new rear height you’ll be fine with the 0-1.5” shock.

For reference I went 2.5 up front and 1 in back. That left me my preference of 1" rake.
If you go 1/2 more upfront, one inch rear would leave .5 rake.
2 inch will be fine. Most runners when they are dead nuts level look nose high most the time...# runners lift results vary

That's the confusing part to me. Fox only does the Performance level rear shocks in a 2-3". My question is will the Factory rear shocks at a 1.5" max work with a 2" lift coil in rear?

a 0-1.5” will work but it’s not ideal. I would just get the 2-3” and raise the rear 2” and keep a 1” of rake.

To sit dead level, you need to raise the front somewhere around 1.75" higher than the back.

So if you go up to 3" in the front, then you'll want to sit at 1.25" in the rear. So those 1.5" rear shocks will work at that height, but you won't find any lift coils that are exactly 1.25" tall......more like either 1" or 2".

You could add a 1/4" spacer to a 1" tall rear coil in order to get that rear height.

Or you could just go 2.75" up front and 1" in the back. This is what I would suggest as you won't be maxing out your front coilovers.......which I think they recommend not maxing out in the first place.

I'm a dealer for Fox bike. They will give me EP pricing on truck shocks. That's why I'm leaning that way. Hard to pass up on the pricing they are giving me.

    Nothing wrong with that.

If I was able to get a deal on Fox shocks, they'd be on my truck in a second.

Actually Dobinsons makes them at 1.25". https://www.dobinsonsdirect.com/pro...-runner-5th-gen~yr_2010-2020-suspension-parts

I'm just trying to base it off what my truck is at now. My 4runner came with a leveling kit installed on it. My fleet guy who sold me 4runner( I have a connection at Toyota here locally) said it is 3" front 1" back. But he just sells the things. The leveling kit is a Revtec. yet I don't see that option on their site. The spacers in rear look to be 2" at least. I'm going to call my service guy who installs them next week to see what exactly they installed. It still has front rake and tires rub. That's why I'm concerned about it sitting level. Normally I'd just go with what Stellar Built would sell and recommend. But seeing how I can get the Fox at such a great price, why not. That's why i need to make sure I'm ordering the right stuff.

If it were me. I’d go with the 2.5’s and the 2-3” 2.0s in the rear and I’d get the icon 52700 rear springs for 2” of height. Then they could level the truck out based on the rear height. Which shouldn’t be a problem for a competent mechanic. Along with new UCA’s. I went back and forth myself and got a 1.5” wheeler t13 for the rear and I ended up switching it to a icon 52700 after a few months. As I didn’t like the height with the t13. Here is my vehicle height as a reference with the 52700 and 1” of rake.

Mine looks basically like yours does now with the leveling kit. Just got it a week and half ago. Have RCI sliders and CBI skids coming. Drove it for a week before they put the leveling kit on it. It changed the way it rides for the worst. And I feel it sits too low in front.thumbnail (9).jpg thumbnail.jpg

that’s what will happen when you use a spacer as the stock suspension already sucks. I’d do the fox combo and icon springs and I think you’ll be happy if you’re trying to achieve the same look you have but with better suspension. I have rci skids and sliders as well. I’d wait until you have the armor on to install the suspension as well.

this. Unless I was getting an amazing deal like op I wouldn’t touch fox. King all day long.
I put big bucks into fox on my 2015 Tacoma and they held up like crap. Threads for adjustment were junk and the finish was even worse. Having been side by side with a buddy who had Kong’s that were twice the age of my fox and looked like they were installed yesterday, still like new, super easy to adjust and ride was amazing. Fox werent worth the money compared to what you get from king

Fox doesn't have the protective coating on the outside of them that King does. They will definitely look like shit a lot sooner than Kings, no doubt. I've heard of some people spraying a protective coating on the shock bodies of Fox shocks, especially if they live in areas with salted roads.

You're also right about the way they ride out of the box. However, you can have them tuned by a place like Accutune before you put them on so that they perform how you like. This is the route I would go if I was getting a deal on them.

I'm with you........if I'm spending full price, I'm getting Kings over Fox. But if I'm getting a good deal on some Fox coilovers, I'd still go for it.

They have 0 to 2" and .5 to 2.5" in different spring rates. I have the .5 but they gave me 1". Same as the regular eibach, advertising 1" and I got 1.5"
Couple thousand miles now and zero settling. If they do I'll just dial them up
