Interior lights stopped turning on when door is opened

    ^^Check this first.

    Also, have you tried all of the doors? In case it could be the switch at the driver's door.

    I downloaded my manual from Toyota's website. I keep the analog version in the glove box, but it's nice to be able to look at it without having to be in the car.

    I'd bet overhead switch not on "door" setting specially in a new vehicle, however on an '02 who knows with it being that old.

    The little switch on the door frame gets flakey after many years. It has a black rubber boot on it, try wiggling it and I bet your light will come on.
