Just got a leftover 2019 Limited that came without mud guards or running boards. To me, running boards are essential to keep the seat bolster from getting crushed when you exit the car/truck. So, purchased and installed the Westin 5" step bars. It's an easy installation. Mud guards were less easy. Toyota parts dept. says there are no OEMs that fit. The plastic "ground effects" that cover the rocker and wheel wells are believed to be in conflict with the OEMs. I got the standard Toyota mud guards anyway (the part # ends in 8110 I believe) and managed to install them anyway. Yes, you do need to drill 2 new holes to install the fronts, which I was originally loathe to do until I figured out you were only drilling into plastic anyway. They fit fine although you'll need to get a couple additional push rivets to attach the guards in the 420200530_142944.jpg 20200530_143002.jpg 20200530_142944.jpg 20200530_143002.jpg 20200530_142956.jpg 20200530_143013.jpg places available on the guards. It really wasn't difficult. You also need to minimally trim the mini-guards that come stock on the truck but that too was easy (utility knife). I can help anyone through the process if they ask. Love the vehicle so far.

I also like the space between the step rail and the rocker. Granted, the rocker is plastic, but the OEM running boards tight fit to the rocker would seem to be a likely place to trap all sorts of road crap, snow, etc. Also, the distance from the step rail to the rocker/side of the vehicle makes it less likely that you'll be kicking/scuffing the truck whilst getting in/out. So far so good.

Somewhat more expensive but ultimately more satisfying.

Great pics. I am going through the same process – just bought a 2020 Limited with no accessories. Where did you get the trim pieces necessary to install the mudguards - from the dealer? I got the
89110 mudguards for automatic running boards, But I believe they will work even though I do not have Any runningboards. I like Your Westin running boards, but may go with the 4” platinum Version.

jdcpa2...No additional trim pieces necessary. The OEM 89110 mudguards will fit perfectly once you remove and trim the mini-mud guards that are usually factory installed. The trimming should be obvious relative to allowing the 89110's to sit flat against the wheel well plastic. Once the inner mini-mud guards are trimmed, attach them only to hold in place. Then, I believe 3 out of the 5 attachment points holes in the mudguards (there's one underneath the mud guard too) will line up perfectly and the screws and push rivets that you removed will be able to be reinserted. In two places you will need to drill the plastic "ground effects" (as they appear to be called on the Limited trim). This is best done with the mud guards in place to get exact locations. Then, you'll need to get just a few push rivets that match the ones you removed and reinstalled at your Toyota dealer. They just gave me a bag of them - no charge. Be sure to pull out the end of the push rivets when removing and reinstalling so they slide easily in/out, then push the cap of the push rivet back in to secure them. So, in short, only a few extra push rivets are required for mud guard installation.

Fantastic reply! I’m excited to install them now. May choose your Westin running boards, too.

Re: the 4" or 5" Westins...So far I'm happy with the 5" for a couple of reasons. One, they installed pretty easily and are solid and secure after about 3 months use. Two, their width allows me to easily use them to get in and out of the vehicle. As I said, I don't like sliding over the edge of the seat bolster. Not sure how narrow is too narrow, but there's not a lot of extra usable width to the 5" so contemplate carefully. Maybe see if there are various running boards at dealerships and measure them and see how you like the looks as well? Good luck.

These Westin Pro-Traxx were easy to install. I've had them for about a year and a half and have never had to tighten them either. If I remember each step came wrapped in a different colored plastic to identify the left and right side. Then there were two predrilled holes in the steps which meant both sides were aligned perfectly. The other steps I put on had a rail system and if you have any amount of OCD you spent an extra 45 minutes aligning them perfectly. Plus these steps are solid tubing with no noticable bend or flex in them and you'll definitely feel it if you're under the rig and raise your forehead too early and smack it.

Good looking rig you got there and good job on the flaps.

Sounds like the running boards will be easier to install than the mudflaps. FYI—Elgin dealer Wanted $2.58 per fender trim rivet, so got six for $9 at the local auto parts store. Thanks for The info.
