Finally got My 4R, But idiots made two holes on front bumper

I would not have accepted it. Have them fix it.

 

Luckily I got mine directly off the delivery truck and was able to get the plate holder out of it before they installed it.

 

New bumper and winch will fix it.

CA Dealers are required to install front & rear license plate brackets with temp paper plates when new cars/trucks are sold.

Yeah, I bet it’s to cover the cost of all the different paints they carry. It’s a small market.

 

Automotive variable depth panel fasteners, .89 at the hardware store. I think they look fine in black since most other trim stuff is also black.

Check Amazon. You can get 100 bumper plugs for $10. Then you can sell the other 98 to everyone else (like me) who have that same darn thing!!! I bet the factory touchup paint is less than $20 as well and you always have it for future scrapes and scratches.

That sucks! Here in Arizona, they know better than to drill the bumper. But if you're buying an out-of-state rig, you have to watch out.

 

I moved from Arizona to Idaho a few years ago and got promptly pulled over by the Idaho State Patrol for not having a front license plate. I explained that Arizona doesn't issue a front license plate. When I got my new Idaho plates, I had to use zip ties to attach the front plate to my newer vehicle since the dealer never installed the front license plate holder. Ghetto, but it worked.

 

When I bought my third gen it was in Oregon. The past owner had used 1 inch wood screws to mount the front license plate on some plastic trim. I refitted my plates using the same screws because the license plate also hid the hack job they did cutting some of the plastic bumper molding to accommodate the aftermarket fog lights. Sucks the dealership would do something like that on a new car.

 

Don't feel too bad. Looks like I'll be relocating from Kansas to Illinois and now I am going to have to attach the front license plate and drill the holes in my bumper.
