Get them for your 2nd Gen ? The last few months I don’t know what it is but I sure do.

Stopped at 7-11 and the Coca Cola delivery guy was there with his big red truck, he watched me pull in and as soon as I got in park he comes right up, wanna sell your truck ? I smiled and said no, it’s not for sale.

He then said would $5000 get her, follow me to the bank. I kindly replied Thank you, you’ll have to keep looking. We shot the bull for a minute or two and parted ways.

Today a fella followed me, I got to my destination and he pulls up next to me, wanna sell your truck. I kindly say it’s not for sale. He comes back with, what would it take ? I came back with $6500 IF I was to sell it. He says will you take my number and call me. I did and called him awhile ago. Sure enough he wants me to drive over and he’ll give me a ride home.

I don’t want to sell my 4Runner, the plan is to give it to my Grandson when he graduates, that’s 11 years, by then I’ll be 67 and the wife and I can share one vehicle. I figure I’ll keep it up and the grandson will have a nice, well maintained classic 4Runner .

So let’s hear your experience, anyone make you an offer for your classic 2nd Gen ?

Me, no. But I got a friend who ends up being the guy in your stories that always offers to buy.

It’s even worse when you have a clean 1st gen 4rnr! A couple years ago I sold an extremely well preserved 4th gen Hi-Lux for $8500 after 10 years of being constantly hounded to sell. I have had several ask but no offers. If someone offered me $5k, it would be hard not to take it.

    Monochrome everything. LED reverse lights.
I would get them all the time for my 99 Tacoma. Notes on the windshield too.

That’s a good looking truck BestGen, I could see getting hammered on that one. I kinda thought about that, possibly buying another one and banking the profit. I looked yesterday on Craigslist and OfferUp but nothing really turned me on.

That and having to start with something unknown as where this 4Runner I know ya know. It’s kinda nice to have one that’s pretty much been 100% reliable, no issues really turn key and go. I’m not selling.

I’ve also had a few notes on the windshield, that is funny. My old 78 K10 that was a weekly thing !

I’ve gotten a few notes on the windshield too over the years. Most recently on my ‘05 Tundra. It’s amazing to think that I sold a 35yo truck and was able to buy 10 and 20 years newer trucks! Sold the ‘85 and bought a... ‘95 Tacoma A0A5C790-D3A0-4C1B-A961-962BA975F00A.jpg and an ‘05 Tundra 6B79360F-6058-46AE-99BB-C212DC407ED0.jpg
Paid $3500 for the Tacoma and $4900 for the Tundra.
