    Hi everyone!

In the process of getting a 2020 4runner. So, I need some advice.

We’re going for the 2020 white 4x4 premium with a 3rd row. Found one at AutoNation Toyota in Cerritos, CA that will be here soon. Their MSRP is $44,222, with a $1,000 rebate from Toyota so making it $43,222. Tax in LA county is 10.25%, yes so damn high!!

They offered a discount of $1,042.62 making the total $42,179 without taxes and etc.

With that being said, the estimated total price with tax and fees is around $47,188. Do you think we can bring down the price even more? Is this a good deal? Considering everything going on right now.

Here’s a list of the fees: doc fee, tire/battery/mvwea, smog abatement fee, tag/registration fees, electronic filing, and flat add/county fee. Are these all necessary?

This would be my first time purchasing a new car. Wanted to get some advice from others who have purchased this car. Any help would be appreciated!

I bought my 2019 Off Road Premium with KDSS this January. I purchased mine from Longo Toyota in El Monte, I shopped around for about 3 months before buying. Longo was one of a very few dealers that gave me a legit online quote, Carson Toyota and Temecula Valley Toyota also gave me actual quotes online, I than using those numbers asked for the best deal. Longo gave me the best deal. Cerritos was high. Check out Longo, let them know what Cerritos is quoting you.

    Thank you for replying back!!

We went to Longo and they told us they have one on the way. They also said they won’t be able to discuss numbers until the car is physically there. But, I’ve had family members say they have gotten great deals at Longo! We checked out Carson as well. They freaking had a $5000 markup on the one we wanted. So comparing that to Cerritos, Cerritos was a few hundreds cheaper!

Do you think we can negotiate more with Cerritos?

Also, do you remember the sales person that helped you at Longo? Maybe I can go to that person lol I just want to make sure I can get great deal before jumping. Haven’t found too many white 4x4 with 3rd row.

    Thanks in advance!

Do you have the actual quote? If so, do a quick search on cargurus/autotrader for similar models to the one you’re looking for in SoCal and see if anyone will beat it. Cargurus also lets you sort by days on the market. Dealers more willing to move a vehicle on the lot more than 90 days, since they have to start paying interest on it.

Online sales reps are more likely to talk pricing if you have an actual dealer quote. About 10% under MSRP is about the most I’ve seen lately. I got mine in June for 10% under msrp. Just be patient and good luck.
