Hey! I have a 2000 runner SRV-5 that runs great but I was wondering if anyone has a way to disable the constant beeping that happens over 75mph.

It may be an after market addition but nothing was obvious after taking off the dash. Thanks!

I have also never heard of this...
Brainstorming...Are you in 4WD? Or maybe the system is trying to engage it but unsuccessful?

    Appreciate the responses!

It is not in 4wd, thought it may be some sort of stability tracking feature, but haven’t found anything to indicate that’s the case.

Sounds like it’s coming from right behind the speedometer.

I want to disable the beep if you have to haul something with the tailgate not fully closed.

Another reason to love my 3rd gen, I guess.

As for the 75MPH speed warning...I tried to google it accross Toyotas in general and it's funny that this is a rare thing but pops up in 4Runners, Rav4s, Sequoia's, etc around the 1999-2002 model cars.

One guy started getting it when he swapped in a different Speedometer (he wanted MPH and not KPH) and a few others never got any good replies or found the issue.

One guy said his 85 Toyota had a sloppy speedo cable to the transmission that caused a buzzer.

You may just want to pull the speedo and yank the buzzer....or try another speedo.

I'm sort of thinking there is something connected to the speed sensing and/or abs that is going bad. Funny that it happens at a magic 75mph mark for everyone.

it is probably an aftermarket thing, a friend of mine had a ford like that, at 70 or 75 would start beeping.
it goes quiet as soon as you slow down
