Been planning on going to P285/70r17 tires before this Fall and was looking hard at the Falken Wildpeak AT3W. Price on Amazon and Walmart.com was $173 the last few months.

Was going to buy one today, then another one next month, and so on.

Checked literally yesterday and the price was $173 for the P-series. LT series were $207.

Was just on Amazon and now the P-series are $207. LTs come up as either $197 or $222.

Figured it was just normal Amazon shenanigans where they hide the cheaper options once you've looked at them a couple of times.

Then I went to Walmart.com and they are now $207 each there as well. WTH?

Looks like I will go with the Cooper Evolution MTs for $162 each.

I was so close to getting the Evolution MT. Pricing right now is crazy cheap. But I decided to upgrade to the Yokohama Geolander. More expensive, but I love the aggressive look. Hard to pass up the Evolutions though.

I wonder why the price jump on the Falkens.. I was considering them as I've heard so much good about them. I wound up with Toyo AT3's. So far, so good.

Hmm I just replaced my new factory equipped tires with P265/70/17 Wildpeak AT3W's about a week ago. The price I was seeing a week ago is the same price they are listed for today. That said, Discount Tire (where I went) is out of stock now, even on the LT size. Their site isn't even showing the P size as an option. Who knows? Amazon still has them, as well as Walmart, for the same price I paid a week ago. Could just be the size you're looking at? With today's tech being implemented into supply chains, businesses are getting better at maximizing profits through a decrease in the "sticky price" necessity. In other words, my guess is that your size is probably just low in stock. Could get cheaper or more expensive given today's pandemic-impacted supply situation. GL!

I would say the price increase on tires is due to inflation!

I distinctly remembered the P265s were $126 the last couple of years or so. Now they are $151.

Interestingly enough, the Falken brand is owned by Sumitomo Rubber Industries, which also owns Goodyear Dunlop.

Yeah, $151 is the price I paid a week ago. I guess the price went up before that. Dang, lol. Oh well, ignorance was bliss. :p
