I got mine in black but I have to say that white is the color to go with since that is the only non-metallic that’s available for the 4Runner except Pro.
It’s less about the look, it’s better to repair or match non-metallic which is definitely a benefit for a off road used vehicle

I like them all except the black color. I just picked up the blue version because we already have other vehicles in Cherry Red and in White.. that makes my colors complete.. Red White and blue !!!

Silver for me for the reasons listed below:
    1. It was the only TRD OR the dealer had for the best deal in 50 miles.
    2. My moms old 1985 Celica was silver (although her awesome 1983 Celica GT was Red...)
    3. My daughters 2005 Rav4 is silver
    4. My old 2009 Tacoma TRD OR was silver
    5. I had a silver 2003 VW Jetta, which I absolutely loved.

Currently on my 2nd silver 4runner......it has the full hood film protection...

Red and white would be my only other consideration of the current offerings.....

Been happy with the film option so far.

I wish they still made this color, by far the best color for the 4runner:pout: my tacoma was in this color and it was my favorite.

Something to consider, because of Covid, the factory in Japan shut down for a little while. That means inventory is low in the US, but demand is still high. You may have to “take what you can get” for 2020. If you’re willing to wait for 2021, you can order the exact color you want.

Also, I have read a good strategy for trade-in is to email dealerships with your trade-in specs, and get the best trade-in price in writing. Then go to the dealership and negotiate purchase price on the truck you want. Then ask them to match the best trade-in price you have already been quoted. They will usually go for it, or risk losing your business to the other dealer.

Yeah, I bought at a good time as there was ample dealer stock. Funny thing is I got them to knock $4K off a 2019 while there were still straggler 2018's on the lot. And, they gave me about $2-3K over KBB for my Tacoma. I honestly got a very good deal. I did a lot of research and math, and they didn't hide any money in that deal. Of course, there's probably manufacturer incentives for the dealer, but they still gave me a good price and good trade in value.

I work for JM&A which is the parent company of Southeast Toyota Distributors. I currently have a white Tacoma and while I love it, the paint is prone to chipping on the hood and roof. I just ordered a 2020 ORP. I too was conflicted about color. I have now changed the order twice. First was black, then white, then back to black. Since I will only drive it on weekends and will have it ceramic coated as soon as I get it, I am hoping the black will hold up o.k. although I do realize they are a b***h to keep clean.

I didn’t know you could ceramic coat a vehicle? How does that work?

I believe it applies similar to wax. The vehicle must be washed and buffed prior to application. It dries as a hard hydrophobic coating. It beads water like wax, but also can help prevent minor scratches.

A guy on a camping trip/trail run last September had his Tacoma coated. Afterward I was amazed how the trail rash would magically disappear by wiping it with your finger.

Interesting poll results. I voted MGM and was not surprised to see it winning, though the margin is bigger than I would have guessed. But very surprised to see Silver so unpopular. IMO the ORP looks really sweet in Silver!

    Agreed. I really like silver.

And white is my least favorite color by far. Very surprised to see it in 2nd place.

The first one I test drove was silver. In my more impulsive days, I probably would have bought it. But, I managed to talk myself out of it and wait a bit. Silver was on my list of colors to buy. It came down to dealer stock.

10 of the 16 cars I have owned have been red. My 2020 4Runner TRD OR is red. I would pick red.

I love my silver 4Runner. I also had silver on my tacoma as well. It always looks clean and it looks great with black wheels.

I have BRM. I love it, but more than advocating for it specifically I would advocate for blue or red, or an sr5 trail edition if you wait in army green. My reasoning: the overwhelming colors sold these days by any brand in any cars are your whites black silvers grays. That makes the world a bland place to be! Branch out and live a little, and give the manufacturers just one more reason to keep making non-boring colors.

I agree it would be cool if the manufacturers were a bit more daring (counterpoint: the PT Cruiser? The Plymouth Prowler? Pontiac Aztec? BMW i3? Maybe I've changed my mind now: car makers cannot be trusted!)

Being serious, I made the Big Mistake on color once. Bought a Land Rover in "Tambora Flame Metallic." OMG was it horrible. Gaudy bright in anything but an overcast twilight. It was like I played a cruel joke -- on myself.

After that fiasco I decided that cars are metal so they should look like metal LOL. Silver or grey metallic. Then I realized that the right color actually depends on the car itself. White is a good example. It's excellent on some cars (an M3, BRZ or WRX) and the absolute worst on others (most big sedans and almost any econobox). Red: sometimes looks like lipstick. Usually best on a sports car. But silver and grey works well on almost anything.

Dark blue is really sweet on a Porsche Cayman. mmmmmm Porsche Cayman mmmmm.

    ok yes I've been drinking...

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
    Wanted Grey got Grey.
Silver would've been my 2nd choice.

14 years with a black Nissan Frontier. I was done with black.
Blue looked too much like black. Never cared for red. Last red car I had was a 1986 Chevy Cavalier Z24 when I was 16 in 1991.

If I lived somewhere blazing hot - AZ, NM, Texas, etc - I might've been tempted by white. White is the color of choice for the desert. Stays cool better than the other colors. Air Con works better in a White vehicle.

10 years in hot hot climates (Iraq / Djibouti Africa) taught me that about white.
