What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Sorry, it’s 2 lines not 3. Don’t mind the dirt, she needs a good wash. If you just place your finger on these two lines for a second or so, the truck will lock. It’s on both the driver and passenger side! Works great.

 

That’s weird, maybe it’s only on the “premium” versions?

I think it's only on 2020 with push button start. It's the same as my wife's Forester.

 

Did you get any time in the Gladiator? If so, what did you think of it?

 

This is 2020, the year which will be hard to forget. You might have a thing or two on your mind beside the lock on your wife’s truck...

 

Added these bad boys today. Rack was a pretty easy install. Having some trouble with the light wiring right now and ran outta daylight. Hopefully found the fix and should get them working tomorrow AM.

How did you route your roof top light wiring?

 

I learned that pressing the up and down arrows on the tailgate of my 2020 will raise and lower the back window

 

you might be able to remote start too if you have smart key

 

Nope, there is no remote start on any 2020 4Runner

 

well my TRD pro must be special then

 

press and hold the lock button on your remote 3 times. On the third push hold it down till it starts. You're welcome.

 

Switched out the rago low profile ditch light mounts for regular height. If you ever get ditch lights, I do not recommend low pro mounts.

 

i dont think my Venture edition has that

 

It might just be the limited and the Pro but they dont advertise it anywhere in the manual. I originally thought it was a smart key feature. I just used it today.

 

Ya its not listed in the compare the models thing on the toyota website

 

I dont remember seeing it anywhere on the toyota website for my Pro either. Just go try it with your key fob, thats how I figured it out.

 

it will have a sticker under the hood saying equipped with remote start. It’s a factory add on that dealership may or may not choose to do to get extra money

I believe only the 4runners with the JBL systems have remote start. My Pro has it.

2020 is the first year it came FACTORY. "Remote connect" is what you're looking for, if it doesn't have that then no factory remote start. Remote starts have always been available thru the dealerships at purchase just like other optional upgrades. By "factory" I mean it came off the truck with it, earlier years could have a factory remote start it just wasn't put in at the factory.

 

But all 2020 4runners do not have remote start built in from factory. Unless you have the dealer add it.
