    Howdy y'all,
Recently bought a used 1999 4Runner. It came with the 4Runner emblem missing and only the 'To' left from the Toyota emblem. I found a 4Runner with them emblems on it at the junkyard so I took those home, but I unfortunately broke the 4Runner one. I am looking to glue the pieces back together. I'm also considering taking the Toyota symbol and SR5 off and painting all the emblems black or gold. I'm also running into issues with the clearcoat chipping where the emblems were. My questions are as follows:
    • Should I redo the clearcoat before putting the emblems back on?
    • Should I redo the clearcoat on the whole back end?
    • Does anyone have recommendations on what spray paint I should use for the emblems?
    Intact SR5:

Where 4Runner was, notice the chipping clearcoat:

Another issue I'm having is there are these things on the rear doors, I assume it was some sort of sticker. I've tried scraping with a credit card and it takes some of it off, so I may just need to work on it. Does anyone have suggestions to get this off:

Lastly, the bug deflector that was on the hood was cracked so I took it off. Do the bug deflectors actually help much?

    Thanks everyone :)

The bug deflectors help when it comes to preventing smaller projectiles from hitting the hood/windshield. It wont work if your going too slow and it wont stop everything even at highway speed. Larger bugs and rocks wont be stopped but it is quite effective on smaller things. I didn't like how the deflector looked but it prevented cracked windshields and chipped paint so I decided to keep it in the end.
