    Hi All,
New member here. I've been searching the threads but didn't come up with anything on this. Maybe I wasn't using the correct terms.

Just this summer the A/C starting getting warm when I'm stopped and at idle. Works well when the truck is moving at speed, albeit it takes a minute to get back to cold. I done the following checks:

    1. I did a quick check on my basic freon and gauge and it registers "good" and well within the "green" range.
    2. Compressor is coming on. But I didn't notice it cycling on and off.
    3. Condensing coil looks good. Clean and I didn't view any leaks.
    4. Switches and electricals are working.

    My truck: 1999 SR5 4WD with 141K miles.

Any more ideas on this? Is this a common problem?

    Regards,
    Boogie

I had an old 97 Subaru that had that same issue. The compressor would kick on and off but it wasn't strong enough to keep up unless I was above idle.

My 1997 Camry has been doing this. Searched good ol youtube and a guy with a honda found that the ac relay in the engine compartment fuse box was bad. It's the relay for the "magnetic clutch" for the compressor. In my car, it was intermittent, sometimes the ac worked fine, sometimes not, especially with alot of idling. Here's the link to the Honda video, y'all may have this same relay issue. The diagram on the fuze box cover abbreviated this relay "MAG CLT".
