Thanks. I need to get some of those...I like to leave my windows cracked on 90+ degree days parked at work, and we are getting sudden downpours these days.

Did you order direct from WT or from a vendor?

Hood protector is five years old I honestly don’t remember where I bought it. It’s held up great though

Yup, high desert. But monsoon season in our part of the world. Clouds build up in the pm. and thunderstorms can move in fast...

Late summer, yes. The tropical stuff down south can also make its way this far from time to time. Nothing like the deep south, though.

By the pic I think it still looks awesome with the stock size tires. When I lift my 2020 Pro I’m staying with my stock size tires till they where out.

Looks great! I see you moved the inverter switch up next to the dimmer for the dash lights. I put my wiper defroster switch there. It was pretty tough getting that blank out!

And I like the USB you put in that blank spot on the other side of the steering wheel. I've been trying to figure out something to put there. Did you have to take the whole dash apart to access that?

It was actually super easy. Using a trim removal tool the section of trim where the “party button” is at pops right out. It has 4 big clips. It took me like 20 minutes to do the USB and hooked it in to the cabin fuse box with a tap a fuse.
The upper switch was harder to get but you can actually pop the trim off that top switch row too, it just takes patience and a trim tool. Once I got it open it was as easy as the bottom row!

I can get a picture of the “party “ part if you need let me know.

Here you go! Just pop it from the bottom with a trip tool.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
Got to NC this morning after a 4 hour drive. There were some pretty steep hills and I could just barely keep it at 60 MPH. Mileage dropped from 13.5 to around 12. Stability was never a problem but power pulling some of those hills was marginal. I was at or near the 5,000 lb. mark and doing it just this once was OK but I wouldn't pull this much weight on a regular basis. The only thing that suffered was the old top. It started coming apart but it was dry rotted in spots so I'm not surprised it couldn't take the wind. DSCN5520.jpg DSCN5521.jpg

Just curious why the weight of the Jeep wasn't centered over the trailer axles...seems that would have made the towing a bit less stressful.

I would say ease of use. The Uhaul trailers have a wrap around tire ratchet strap that's anchored to the front of the trailer. There's no way to use that and NOT have the vehicle all of the way to the front of the trailer.

Yeah, trailer is made for longer vehicles for sure. I guess you could have backed it in to put the motor weight
over the axles, but you made it, thats what counts.

Here's to cleaning out the workshop more often - I was going through some stuff this morning, and discovered the oem Toyota MGM touch-up paint I had bought some time back for my 2013 Tacoma. Never used. With a bottle of clear coat besides. I had considered getting some for my MGM 4R, as I thought I had left the touch-up paint in the truck when I sold it...:bananadance:

Research shows both trucks have the same paint code.

Loaded up Frosty for my wife and daughter. They are off to the coast for a week. They are also taking my mother in law and uncle in law. It’s their annual trip and finally we have a vehicle that can fit everyone and everything. I’m stuck with her Forester till Sunday.

They are also bringing 2 medium dogs!

What is that cap thing on the top of the compressor? Just a cap that keeps dirt out when not in use??

The front tires have to be up against the stops at the front of the trailer in order to get the tire straps around the tires. I thought of that too but it just wouldn't work.

The top would have ripped off within the first mile lol. It was an old top and in bad shape. It got a little over 500 miles and it started coming apart as it was so I had to stop and take it off. I probably should have just started with it off but we did hit rain and I was trying to avoid getting the interior wet mostly because the gas tank sits on the floor under the driver's seat and if water gets under it the bottom rots out or you have to remove the tank and dry it all out. A pain in the butt but that's the way it was designed.

I already did that way back in 1998 when I first got it. It's restomodded because the guy I bought it from changed the engine that had thrown a rod. He had a 1977 Pontiac Sunbird sitting in his driveway and took the 4 cyl. from that and adapted it in. It's actually a pretty good little engine. The frame is perfect but I welded in new floors and supports. The body is not too bad considering it's over 70 years old. Drive line is good too. Replaced some seals, the complete brake system/ changed the wheels and tires and all new fluids. It's been a pretty fun project.DSCN4890.jpg DSCN4890.jpg DSCN4889.jpg DSCN4892.jpg
