I have been in love with Toyota off-roading forever. I am an old guy with lots of miles on my odometer. I started with an Fj Cruiser in 69 after returning from Viet Nam. Quickly bought a 70 then made a trade for a 70 model Fj. Then there was the 72 Fj 40. Which was followed by a 74 model Fj 40. I just kept running into great deals with better options. Then real-life marriage, kids, work other things demanding my money. So I kept the 74 Fj until the '90s. Having regretted ever parting with my Fj until I bought my first 4 runner (a compromise for space for wife and kids). There was a 4 runner in the family ever since. My last was a 05 with 310K that was running like brand new. An accident killed the 4 runner recently but she protected me to the end. I had a tear in my eye when they hauled her away. Which brings me to this forum. I am looking for a new play vehicle. Maybe an Fj more probably a 4 runner. So you might say I am updating my knowledge base doing my homework as I look. The information on this site is fantastic.
