    Is this scenic enough?

    I drove up from Durango at 6am to eat in Silverton and beat the crowds. Was over Engineer Pass and at Lake City at 10:30 for a second dose of coffee and wifi before heading back up and over Cinnamon Pass, with another stop in Silverton for lunch at 12:30. The last half was a lot of traffic so made the right call leaving early as Engineer is tricky in places but able to place the 4Runner just right without tagging anything.

    Used A-Track on the tight uphill switchbacks just in case and the rear locker once on the final climb to Engineer. Never spun a tire with the Dunlop A20s at 34psi.

    Last time I was here 5 years ago on my '13 Husky 310 and was boiling gas, and after Hurricane, California, Engineer and part way up Cinnamon Passes my clutch went out, so limped back to Ironton. Later noted I was burning coolant and had a blown head gasket. So this trip was to finish what I started. The 4Runner is an awesome ride.
