Are you on the AT3 thread on Tacomaworld as well?

There's a few comments on this thread. I've seen a few videos as well. I'm loving them so far. They make a high pitched whine at higher speeds, but it's pretty easy to ignore. It's more noticeable when you're under-inflated. I've been hitting the trails a lot, and they're performing great so far. I think they're going to be an excellent tire.

Your posts have definitely pushed me more to looking into the toyos. It’s between them and the falkens at this point. Forever window shopping and researching until it is time to buy them.

I was set on the Falkens until I read all the posts about balancing issues. I'm going Toyo for sure.

I've had them since April 28, stock size on Method NV wheels E-load 40psi and have a little over 5k miles on them. This weekend we did a 750 mile round trip and I love these tires. They are great in rain and since my wife has taken over the Tundra for the last 3 weeks I have been driving the 4runner. She works 3-11 I work 8-4:30 so when I get home I hit the dirt. They have performed great in what is probably considered mild off roading that I do which is Ozark Mountains sandy, gravel, water, and some mud when it rains (not like deep mud bogs but stretches of road where it is sloppy). I went out yesterday evening and was feeling a little bold so instead of just cruising I was more fast pace in my running. I would come out of a curve and floor it and let it ride out the back end rarely stepped out and when it did it was very slight I could look in my side mirror and see where those tires were digging as I was gassing on it by leaving disrupted strips in the road like I had been burning out. They balanced well and I have lost very little if any MPG with the E-load matter of fact on our trip this weekend we were getting high 20-low 21. I chose E-load because around here there are long sections of dirt road where the rock is not typical gravel but often fist sized river rock and the areas with less gravel have old rock embedded into the dirt that is very sharp and I do not want a flat on a gravel road in the hills (been there done that with C-load). So I give them a full 5 stars. I have Trail Grapplers on my Tundra and will probably go back to those when that time comes but I might consider these for the Tundra. Oh and at 5-6k on these they have not even begin to go through the top wear bar on the tread so I am betting 50k+ out of these.

Hey all, newish member here, took the leap from the Tacoma to the 4R. Just purchased a 2020 ORP and getting things lined up. Just about ready to pull the trigger on these, have yet to see them in person however. Has anyone seen or have first hand knowledge of the p metric vs. LT? Going back and forth on this, I’ve read the sidewall on the p metric is a little less aggressive. The p metric would most likely serve my needs but just a little leery about it, it would save some weight etc. I will be going with 285/70/17’s. Appreciate the help/input, thanks!

Put mine on today, they run smooth on highway and no vibrations. I have FN rims and the offset helped as very little rubbing,
Heres a lousy pic, ran short on time today

I tried to find a similar picture of mine. Mine are LT285/70/17 C rated. If I'm not mistaken, @ForRun has the P metric equivalent.

Thank you, much appreciated. I know pictures can be deceiving but your sidewalls do appear to be more prominent. Any concern with the weight? I was looking at Ridge Grapplers as well but they don’t seem to fare too well with snow from what I’ve read and would rather stick with a 3 peak snowflake rated tire. Your setup looks great as well.

    Thank you!

I definitely notice the difference from stock, but I'm not sure if it's more the weight or the diameter. I'm still satisfied with the acceleration. You only really notice the difference when you accelerate aggressively. Mileage has gone down a bit, but that's probably due to a combination of things.

Forgot to mention. I never checked before but using GPS today at all speeds up to 80 the runner was spot on with 285s

Here's the pizza cutter spec (LT255/80/17) on some trail wheels. These were a major improvement in on-road ride quality vs the Falken Wildpeak AT3W.

Thanks again, certainly helps, with these being so new it’s great to hear from others that are actually running them. I’m not concerned with mileage, more concerned with the highway manners. My days of aggressive accelerations are long gone ;). I should save a few pounds with the new wheels over the stock wheels, that will make up some of the difference if I go with the C load.

    Looks great!

These have been great on the highway so far. They do make a little noise, but it's not loud.

I have a 2020 TRD ORP and went with the factory size in LT E-load on Method NV wheels. I see little to no difference in mileage. Granted you are changing sizes but I took a 700 mile plus round trip last weekend and I was getting high 20s to mid 21s on mpg. Yesterday I was on the highway and looked down it was showing 22.1.

Really appreciate the feedback, it certainly did help. Tires ordered and went with the C load, fingers crossed. Lift kit is due to arrive Monday, hopefully will have everything together in the next week or two. Will definitely post pics when lift/tires are on.

So you went with the 115T or the 121S? I am still trying to decide if I want the heavier duty Toyo AT 3's, because Arizona is full of sharp rocky terrain. I do spend about 95% of my time on pavement, and I don't want too harsh of a ride.

I went with 285's, they have an LT C load in that size which is actually 116. If you're looking at the stock size 265/70/17 I believe those are 115 for P metric and 121 for the LT E load. Part of my reasoning was aesthetics as horrible as that sounds. I've been on C load Duratracs with my Tacoma I just traded, I'm confident these Toyos will be step up in the road manners category. Hope that helps a tad...

Got the tires mounted this evening (285/70/17 C load). Aesthetically very pleased with how they look. Hope the performance will match. I believe my wife’s exact words were “my god those are big”, I told her that she knows first hand I’m compensating for something ;). Planning on the lift being installed next week, anxious to get this put together. Just 500 miles on the truck, very happy with the Tacoma to 4Runner transition thus far. Cheers!

FN FX Pro matte gunmetal wheels and Toyo AT3 tires are on! Love the new look, looks so bad ass even with stock suspension and standard 265 70R70 size.
Drives great, feels like more traction than the stock Dunlop.

New to the forum. Stuck between these and the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac as a DD. Was wondering what y'all thought? Thanks for the feedback

    Welcome to the forum!

I'm happy with these tires so far.

There are a lot of diehard Duratrac guys out there.

I couldn't really say which is better. I don't think either one is a bad choice.

On my old 3rd gen I wore out a set of Duratracs from new. They were a great all-around AT tire and decent in the snow. They're a loud tire to begin with but they only got louder as they wore and by the time I replaced them I could hardly stand how noisy they were. Personally I won't be getting them again due to that reason. I'll likely be getting the AT3's once I'm ready for new tires on my 4th gen.
