Hey all, I just sold my Tacoma and I'm checking out 4runners. I've owned 2 and have loved them both. I really have just began my search and have noticed a 4runner venture package. Can any shed some light on the difference with the venture and the off road and off road premium. I would call a dealer and ask them but we know the dealers don't know much about the trim packages any info or links where this may have already been discussed would be appreciated

Venture = Off Road Premium with different wheels, blacked our spoiler, and a roof basket.

All 3 feature same powertrain and off road goodies (same as Pro).

Off road will not have signals in mirrors, leather, moonroof, and a few other things. Premium will have those.

I do like the venture wheels so I suppose it's a matter of what I can find. An ORP or Venture. I had never heard of the Venture. What do you all think? Venture vs, ORP?

Go ORP if you want something aimed for off roading.

ORP is what I was originally thinking. We don't do hard core off roading. However we do like off roading. And have thought about switching up our camping since we sold our travel trailer. So a capable vehicle would be beneficial. But I sure do hate the wheels on the ORP I'm just excited to be looking for a 4 runner again

You could get an off road premium and just swap out the wheels if you wanted to. And probably end up spending less money in the end.

but honestly, the ORP wheels are a good wheel. Recessed valve stem.

Just like I said before @shekuhn, other than a few trim items such as different wheels the Venture, Offroad and Offroad Premium are the same level of offroad capable. Same shocks, gears, suspension, engine, trans, etc.

Honestly get the one you like of the 3, they are essentially the same vehicle with different outward appearances. Absolutely none will hold you back.

(I have an OR Premium, as I planned to build suspension, and I wanted different wheels. Also, Roof baskets are annoying and aren't car wash friendly, whistle on the road, and impact MPG). One last note, that roof basket is a 100% unit you can buy online for like $500 so if you want an ORP but gotta have the basket, not a problem.
