Cleaned up and photo shoot for dealer web site. Not sure why since I bought it already but I guess to drive traffic.

First changes were Ceramic Tint all around including a coating in the front window in hopes of helping with temps as much as possible, I like the looks with the front tinted too.

Next (which is also last because it was yesterday) was the addition of Slee Rock Sliders

Thanks it’s taken me a while to get here and realize what I want. I had a 1999 limited in desert dune metallic I bought sight unseen new and loved it. It’s the only car I ever leased and the only car I have ever wanted back when sold. I went through a number of things since then:

2000 Cherokee classic taken from my wife when she got a liberty renegade so I could get a Harley. Still have the crappy jeep but sold the Harley in 2013 for a raptor

2007 gt500 convertible after buying my wife an 05 she didn’t drive as much as I did so I figured may as well get the big motor. It’s a borderline race car now and with a son that just turned 16 had to drop insurance so it’s covered in the garage for a while.

I then got the raptor which I liked a lot but made a poor color choice and regretted it and eventually along with not fitting in the car wash that ended up sold and replaced with a Subaru Outback in my practical phase. That lasted about 2/3 years and I bought a Colorado ZR2 in all black and I really do like that truck. I am driving it now while the 4Runner build is going but it’s getting sold to get back in the 4Runner. Nothing wrong with it at all but I need the space for a wife, 2 kids, and 3 dogs inside and as much as I want the land cruiser I can’t afford the thing the way I want it built but my dealer does amazing work in them and ships all over so I have seen their level of work for a while now and am comfortable with them helping me in this. After all the gr500 mods I have learned a trusted advisor with the right know how and tools is worth more than the cost of the service.

I am hoping the compressor tray and dual battery tray get in today. They are also from slee but not in the web site and the GM at the local dealer knew about it so we didn’t have to make it custom.

we are doing a hidden winch and factor 55 fairlead and hook so I can keep the stock bumper and the new safety stuff can still work. It’s funny how you get spoiled with that adaptable cruise and push button start. I loved that in the subaru and miss it in the truck now.

in the end the 4Runner has the window that drops for the dogs in the back, the gas tank on the correct side (unlike the land cruiser and discovery I looked at) and offers a lot of ability to build it how I want. My job is to not mess it up.
    More pics to come

and my apologies to everyone I just realized this should have been in the build section so if a moderator sees it and wants to move it please feel free.

Today we got a little bit more done. Wheels and tires (Bronze icon rebounds with 285/70/17 Goodyear duratracs) on, 2” revtek Lift all around, warn bumper and winch. It was supposed to be just a hidden winch but due to some spacing challenges with the safety stuff and no one knowing a thing about moving stuff we opted to add the bumper. I like the bull bar and am hoping everything g works as it should with it in there. Don’t know for sure yet but it looks like it might. Angles in pics matter as one says yes and the next says no. It’s the warn bumper and a warn winch which I didn’t really go crazy on.

    rims worked out nicely.

Finally all sorted with the 2” revtek spacer lift. Rims and tires are set and the bumper/winch done. Off to have a few beers for the holiday.

You can see the revtek spacer here and art it next to a stock 4Runner from the rear

Looks good dude!! What made you decide on the Revtex lift? I know of this lift and the Westcott design lift. There are not many choices out there for the 2020 Pro. I was leaning towards the westcott design. But I like to here your thoughts on the Revtex. Also did you add the lift?

Thanks I am happy with how it looks in fact thrilled.

as for why there is one simple reason. I was looking at Westcott too and Was leaning that way as well. I am having my work done by my dealer and they are keeping me under warranty for that reason. I brought the westcott to them (via web) and the GM wasn’t too sure about it. I am sure for no reason other than they don’t know them as well but when I brought the revtek so then and asked and expected the same no they came back with “that will work”. So the choice was made.
I get an extra half inch and frankly don’t care what name is on it so long as it works. The dealer giving me the ok for warranty was what sealed it but if I was doing it myself I would have chosen the westcott too.

Thanks, I agree if your dealer is going to back you on the warranty good choice. I discussed the westcott with my dealership and they would do the install but if something fails and it’s the lift of the cause it’s on me. So in my cituation it pays me to find someone cheaper to do it. I want to run 285’s eventually not sure what lift I will do.

That’s pretty much what I was told. Ask about the revtek. Can’t hurt. It worked out well for me.

Nice truck. You're doing exactly what I did - mod it as fast as you possibly can right after you buy it lol. I'm constantly trying to think of things to do to it now.

you can mod anything and not lose your warranty. You only lose warranty on the item you replaced. Just Incase you didn’t know that. I have Kings, the dealer I go to was willing to do work on my suspension with my factory warranty. (Nothing was wrong with my suspension. They just were trying to say it was a problem because they couldn’t diagnose the actual problem.)

Nice truck - I have the same. Does that bar on the bumper interfere with the Toyota safety sense stuff?

I may be, have not decided yet what to do with them. I am in Indiana though so shipping may make it not worth buying if you are not close

Not yet but I am not done testing that. I'll get back to you on this but so far so good.

yeah I probably shouldn’t but can’t help myself. I have 5 cars and 3 are modded. 2 that are not are my wife’s jeep and she won’t let me near it and my sons mustang and I won’t let him as he is 16 driving for a month. Besides all the bolts turn easier when it’s new.

Looks good! So the bumper does not interfere with the safety sensor?
    If not sign me up!

So far no issues with the bar in front but it’s still too early for me to say 100% that it’s got no issues. I want a little more seat time. It’s been getting some more things added.
    Dual battery
    Compressor
    Solar power hook up

still fighting the gobi battle but they have one there and are seemingly willing to pull it and give it to me. I am more the hold up as I am not sure I want to make them do that so I may wait.

I have a few other little things to get done still with the light upgrades but almost there. I just got that rear trunk pop switch from Jesse too and will be adding that when I get to it with a gun safe as soon as I figure out the one I like.
