I've been following along on this for the last 2 years for ideas when it was time to replace the stock tires. Now it has finally come to make my 4R look good.

I've got my mind set on the 275/70/17 BFG KO2's being installed on the stock rims (thinking about powder-coating later). I wanted a little bit of advice if i need/should level it out while i'm at it. If so, I had seen success with the Bilstein 5100s.

According to this write-up, you shouldn't need to change anything for the 275s with stock wheels, lift or not:

    https://trail4runner.com/2018/01/03/largest-tire-size-4runner/

I'm pondering the same for my next set of shoes. I have 265s on stock wheels and I am quite pleased with them. I think 275s would look great.

You can fit those tires stock, so you don't need the Bilsteins.

But the Bilsteins will add handling improvements as well.

I had 275 KO2s for about 8 months or so before installing the Eibach Stage 1. Only fitment issue is rubbing in reverse, full lock. Just had to push the fender liner forward. I posted picture of them stock a while back

Something to consider, the 275 is only available in a load E, the 265/70 is available in a load C. This is 10 lbs extra per tire for the 275, for a gain of .6" in tire height and .2" in width. When I switched from stock tires to load E on my tacoma (haven't done it yet on the 4R) I lost 2 mpg or so.

Thanks guys. I’d seen a lot of things saying 275s were no issues and then a couple saying that there was rubbing. So just wanted to check the exact setup I was aiming for to see what concerns would come up.

People will run into rubbing issues with 275's if they deviate from the stock wheel specs (wheel width, backspacing, offset), if they add wheel spacers, or if their alignment is out of wack.

You're usually pretty safe running 275's with stock wheels and a proper alignment.

Hi, was thinking about doing the same to a 2020 SR5 premium 4runner and wanted to know if you lifted your vehicle yet?

Eibach is stiffer, no nose dive when hard breaking, articulation seems good. Coupled with the JBAs and grease-able sway bar mounts front and rear, I have no complaints.

That looks great! Did you do the install yourself? And would you say the JBAs and the grease-able sway bar mounts are necessary?

I did the install, and it is easy and straight forward. If you want to get the best alignment possible then UCAs are necessary, the sway bar mounts probably not, but for $20ish a set I figured why not. The JBAs were a bit of a hassle to install, there are washers that go between the bushings and mount that took so persuading and a second set of hands to install.

When did you get the rubbing? Before or after you installed Eibach ?

Before lift, it was minor rubbing on the front fender liner. I grab some old sidewalk chalk and colored the tires best I could then back out of the driveway in each direction to see where the rub was coming from. Took about 5 minutes to unbolt and push the liner forward. Fixed it
