Hey my fellow TR4 owners AC help ?

I'm having an issue with my ac not giving me that ice man feeling.. My ac is working and has been but as of late its not been blowing as cold as it has before.. I bought a recharge can of R134. Can I get some input on the correct port to connect to how much gas to put in etc? I would appreciate the info.. Thanks

 

Well, the ports are different sizes. And the hose you can get for the can, should only have the correct size (for low side).

Measure your current cycle time on a day that's not too hot or humid and I think it should be around 10 seconds or so. (put AC on high, max fan)

When you add, add a little at a time and see if that cycle changes. Do not add too much or you will cause short cycling.

The problem with AC, you really need all the equipment to do it right. Full evacuation, weighing the refrigerant and putting in the correct manufacturer amount. AC is also very dependent on ambient temps and humidity, etc.

 

Thanks I really appreciate the input and knowledge you shared with me.. I will try a couple short shots and see if there is a change in the output.. If it's not noticeable I will take it in and get it done at a shop. Thanks again
