My 2014 4Runner has a Gracenote P10544 faceplate, I have no idea what is behind that. Looked on web for any info on it, only found used/refurbished units for about a grand.
When I bought the vehicle last October, it had a Traffic "button" on the main screen and would show the local area like a map program on a GPS unit.

When I tap that now I get an error message that "HD radio is not available". I do have a few HD stations preset in FM so I know that is not accurate. I was wondering if there was an app I needed to upload on my Android phone that would sync/bluetooth connect with the radio to update it or something.

Any clues would be appreciated. Probably not going to upgrade the unit, but would like it to work correctly. I see the refurbished ones for sale on ebay say it is a non-navigation unit but as I said, mine has a Traffic option but it gives me the error so it is a little confusing.

    Thanks!

You’re probably just not getting an HD Traffic signal. They’re only broadcast in select areas.

in fact, I’m not even sure it’s a thing anymore?

Thanks, I never knew you had to have HD traffic service. I will research that and see if they have it in Reno.

It’s usually just larger cities that have the HD weather/traffic signals.

Reno is only about 300,000 so I would think it would be large enough. And, if it has HD radio stations, I would assume it would have the HD stations for traffic and weather but you know what happens when you assume something.
