    Monochrome everything. LED reverse lights.
Thats why I was determined to get a 20 or a 21. Though that looks like the Lexus GX series which can look really good with suspension and tire upgrades.

Yep. Same with the rumors that the 4Runner will be unibody, electric, discontinued altogether, ect.....

    Same tired rumors every year.

It's not terrible looking, but definitely wouldn't be my favorite gen... though I've never really loved rounded edges(except on supercars), so the 4th gen was always my least favorite. And honestly, this looks more like an evolution from the 4th gen than the 5th. Aside from looks, if the performance is an improvement on the current gen, I'd drive it.

Sometimes I actually wish they would go more utilitarian with it. I wish they would make a real competitor for the Wrangler.

But then, I do love hitting the trails in such a cushy ride. it's nice to have such a comfortable ride to and from the trails.

It would be cool if they did a true hardcore off-road trim. Full skids, clearance for 35's, etc. I'd pay PRO MSRP for something like that.

Same here. I was thinking the other day that I really liked the split tailgate I had on my FJ-60. I don't mind the Fortuner. I've crawled around them a bit on some of my S. America trips, but I'd rather they bring the 70 series Land Cruisers here.

    https://www.toyota.com.au/landcruiser-70

They will never do an FJ-40 replacement, but you can take out a mortgage for one of these!

Almost all the overseas trucks/suv's have that rounded look. That's what sells in other places and Toyota knows that.

Toyota also knows the consumer in North America that would buy a vehicle like this typically like squared off, angular lines rather than rounded panels. I think the 6th gen here will reflect that in appearance.

The tricky part for them will be balancing the power under the hood with mpg's and enthusiast wants/needs.

Lots of people will give up on the 4Runner if it comes with the Tacoma's 3.5L motor/trans combo. I think Toyota learns from that and adds a turbo to the 3.5L for the 6th gen.......along with a hybrid option.

No. The Fortuner is body on frame, like a 4runner.

I think It looks exactly like a 2019 landrover discovery or as they are known here in the uk a Chelsea tractor. Driven by moms on the school run.

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
I'd be tempted if they gave us the diesel and manual transmission the Fourtuner comes with overseas.

Fortuner always existed. It is Asian market model and never looked like a 4 Runner at any given time. No worries. Not an issue.

looks a lot like the gender-reassignment that Chevy did to the Blazer. But at least it won't break down every 107 miles.

In lieu of a twin turbo V6, though. If it makes anywhere near the power of the 3.5 in my brother's F150, no-one will miss the 5.7. They're awesome motors, but they're too thirsty to keep around.

Supposedly it's based on what's in the Lexus, and rumor of 450 horsepower and putting the truck in the mid 60's for starting price.

And yes, the 5.7 is thirsty. 13 city, 18 highway.....until you lift it. I have the 4.6 in mine.
