New member, new 4Runner. Greetings to all. My wife has committed and jumped on the Toyota bandwagon. We just purchased her a 2020 4Runner TRD off-road premium to go with our collection. I currently own a 72 (Resto curreently), 83 Landcruiser and an 05 Camry.

Have a couple of questions to the 4Runner nation if you will.....

    1. We would like to put a bug deflector on it, but would like it to be low profile. Any suggestions
    2. Good suspension kit suggestion to level and maybe raise a bit, nothing extreme as we will only do mild trailing
    3. One thing I think is dated on all 5th gen 4Runners are the headlights, any good LED options that dont cost 1000+, is there an option to just pull the bulb and replace?
    4. We are sorta new to the Phoenix Area and would like to do some light trailing/camping, anyone know of any groups?

Pictures for your viewing pleasure, she wanted the black accents so we dressed it up a bit. Also had to throw my toy in....

Welcome. I put "Cornfed" spacers in front to level. Eibach adjustable are another more $$ option. (I'm thinking about these)
I replaced H11's with H9's in the low beams.Very happy with results. Also put LED in Fog lights.Did anytime For light mod too!
    You have Pro Grill!!

What type of LED fits the fog light? We did splurge for the Pro grill, being old school landcruiser owner, all grills have the 'TOYOTA' instead of the sombrero. Looks classier I guess...to me....

I believe mfg was Sylvania but they are H9's. You just need to trim off a tab to match the H11's to fit into socket.

Welcome! Nice Toyota Fleet!! The Vulture mtns are a good place to start with some mild trails. Rolls OHV area is pretty cool as well. My family settled out there and I drove out a couple of times. Still only scratched the surface. This Arizona trails book is a great addition. I have the digital version on a tablet.

Welcome, and congrats!! When I bought my 4runner ORP one of the first mods I did was replace all the interior and exterior lights with LED. Check https://trail4runner.com/2017/12/18/light-bulb-numbers-5th-gen-4runner/ they have a list of all the bulb numbers you will need. I went with Xenon Depot after doing research. A little more expensive, but well worth IMO. I recently upgraded to the Morimoto XB headlights and they are amazing. I also did a level kit, but I would suggest forgoing this and just due a suspension. I hated the way it drove, looked good, but drove terrible. Replaced with Icon Stage 2 within a few months. There are a lot of options to look at. The website above will give you a lot of info. Good luck!!!

Thanks for all the input, much appreciated. @sherwood4runner thanks for the link, very helpful. Definitely will also do the interior with LED's along with the headlights. Ordered the LED fog lights, looking for low beams now, want to make sure I get quality ones, would like to do just a bulb swap if possible. I see a bunch that are H11 (H8,H9), does that mean they are all interchangeable?

I want to level it but not with spacers, are there any options to maybe raise it slightly without going with stage 2 icon type stuff? Sorry, a bit new at this with newer vehicles. Working on my old land cruiser is so simple compared to vehicles now a days.

    Welcome to the forum!

1: I think Weathertech makes one

2: Eibach Kit is very popular here. I run Bilstein 6112's and 5100's and I'm quite happy as well.

    3: H9 mod

4: I can't help you there. Definitely post pictures when you find some!

    Also, beautiful Landcruiser!

I installed the OEM Bug deflector and I think it looks good. Easy to install, and very sturdy and it has lived through multiple car washes so far. It's good insurance for preventing rock chips on your hood.

    Thanks for the info

Will look at weathertech v. OEM,

On the suspension kit, looks like I may go that route. When you say H9 mod, can you be more specific? I see bulbs that say H11/H9/H8...are these combo/compatible or do i need an H9 only? do you have an example.

    Thanks for the landcruiser love

There is a way to fit H9 bulbs into the 4runner housings. I can't help with details, as I'm running stock bulbs.

This guy makes it seem more difficult than it really is, but gives you the idea what to do. I did it then found this.:

    2) Eibach Pro Truck kit (front adjustable shocks AND springs / rear non adjustable shocks and springs)

    3) I am using these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TWRFYPC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
yes, i know they are out of stock, but you can probably find similar.

    4) Welcome to the Phoenix Area. I have not run any of our trails in the 4Runner (I need to), there used to be a Tacoma club that had regular meet ups.

Headlight Revolution has a low beam LED bulb that supposedly works really well. We are going to get them for ours. https://headlightrevolution.com/s-v-4-led-h11-h16-bulbs/ There are some youtube videos on them in the 4Runner.
