What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Yup. Waiting for wheels to arrive in July. Dont want to have to do it twice.

 

You won’t do it twice. Push it as far forward as possible and done. That’s mine with a 2.5” lift and a 295/70/17 zero rubbing.

 

Gotcha. What did you use to push the liner forward?

 

Unbolt it, move it forward, bolt it back in. Then just cut the exposed lip off the bumper skin.

 

And what do you know... LOL!

 

Got rid of the yellowish, orangeish, pinkish DRLs, installed these in less than 5 minutes.


DRLs daytime. No flickering.


High beams daytime


They have a capacitor built in to prevent flickering, you can see the difference in brightness between DRLs and high beams, only half of the LED cobs light up in DRL mode, and they are still white. Less than $100. I use Headlightrevoltions

Where did you find the winddeflector for the front of your pro rack?

Im sure you have answered this somewhere and I apologize but what front bumper winch set up is that? It looks super clean.

 

Got new rubber and 5100’s on it today. No springs or spacers gave me a 2” difference in the front. I took pics of all four tires before and after but this was the side by side of the driver front. Love the look and the ride.

 

GTR advertises great driving light in any headlight...read to the bottom of the page and says fogs only, not street legal.
They should make up their minds

 

Greenlane OffRoad bumper. They are a company in British Columbia that specialize in aluminum. They ship to US and when you convert to Canadian $$ to US $$ it’s reasonable priced. They do specials now and again but I am sure that you call them and tell them you saw their product on 4Runners.com they will cut you a deal.

It’s a great bumper for me the winch mount, recovery points, and mounts to vehicle is reinforced steel the rest is aluminum so it’s light. I did a little design help with them and they were a great company to work with. It can also be gotten with a cut out for a light The winch is a Smittybilt x20 synthetic with a factor 55 fairlead, and Flatlink with rope guard.

One drawback if you want to call it that is the Smittybilt x20 has to be exercised once a month to keep it properly lubricated, Warn you don’t have to. Not really a problem but I had a friend who didn’t do it regular and his seized up. I pull out my father-in-laws Jeep pretty regularly so it gets its use. Don’t tell him I told you that.

I really like how the Baja looks up at the top. My one knock on the Gobi is you can see the top bolts and such. that baja is clean up top.

 

It installs just like the C4. You basically can use the black front bumper fairing as a guide for the cut. If you haven’t already there are a few good YouTube vids on the install.
Took me about 6 hours and I did it myself. Used a floor jack with a 2x4 to hoist it up in place then just lined it up with the bolt holes. Taking apart the front bumper for the first time is a little unnerving. Lots of pops and snaps but it’s pretty forgiving. A good Dremel tool with a plastic cutting wheel and patience.

 

Technically, they're not legal for headlamps, so they advertise them for foglamps.

The one dimension they don't show is the thickness of the LEDs. Most are too thick and give poor focus.

I would need to hang a tree air freshener in the bumper cut out.

 

I have their sliders also and they have the same cutout. To each their own but it doesn’t bother me. Pretty much every company tags their product. I would guess if you called them they would probably leaf out the trees, but it helps to see that the line spool goes on even.

 

Did you do bcm or lose the mudflaps when you had 285s? I've got the same rims and curious, thanks

 

I'm running 295s not 285s No BMC just mud flap removal and fender liner mod.

 

Bit the bullet and ordered the c4 bumper and warn evo 10k winch. Hopefully be here quicker than the 8wk lead time

 

Got it aligned. It settled to 3" front and rear.

So I take it since only half the Leds light up they are not super bright during the day? And no flickering? Sounds great!! Sign me up! no really, thanks! I’ve been seeking a good solution to make them white- right now I just have them disabled...

 

So i guess the test is whether you get flashed or not... keep us posted!! Looking good...

 

Ran power from my 20” led bar to my relay/fuse block... cleaned up the wiring with some loom and put some labels on: “Cab” for my full time power module, ” RAP” for my raptor lights, and “20”“ for my 20” light bar...looks clean.

 

those fog lights look nice!

 

Added a little weight to the front end & upgraded the lighting over the weekend.
