E locker swap ?

Anyone done it ? I’ve got a line on a 98 e locker and from what I’m reading this does interchange with 2nd Gen 4x4’s. I’m going to look at this with cash in hand next week, possibly take it, have it checked at a differential shop and swap out mine, I always wondered what that extra panel slot was for in my dash and now I think I know.

If you did the swap was the sway bar and issue ?

 

Well I’ve done a ton of reading, it appears this can work but for all my reading there’s one modification to the axle housing and I can’t find out what it is so scrapping the whole idea. Ah well, for a minute I thought it was going to be a cheap way to achieve having factory Toyota locker.
