2nd owner for 8 years now. Very stock and well maintained. Its got 316k miles and I think original LBJs and probably all original front end. I want to know if both should be replaced if only 1 has play or both? How about the uppers? I replaced shocks with Bilsteins back then but thats about it. Thanks for your info.

I would do all scheduled maintenance, but especially the lbj’s, also the radiator, water pump, timing belt, check all the rubber bushings. That is a good start. Welcome to the forum.

Love those 3rd gens. It was my favorite vehicle to date.

If it were me, I would replace both.
