Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
I saw these videos and thought they looked interesting. The lag from the throttle to the valve really gets reduced, and the response in race mode is pretty much a direct reflection of where the pedal is at.

Are the effects shown in the videos legitimate?

The people who have them generally seem to think they are the greatest thing since sliced bread. I don't think I've heard a single negative comment about them.

If it sounds like something you'd want, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.

I bought one and after a month or so I thought wow this was a sham. So I turned it off, well lets say it was money well spent. After a few stop and go starts on my way to work it stays at sport 7.

I put mine in a week ago and it does exactly what it is supposed to do. Merging on to the highway was difficult before it due to the pitiful throttle response. Even at "sport 5" setting it kicks down much faster.

I have a question concerning these boosters. When I played with Chevys, there was a guy in Canada who would tune an ecm, you could swap it out and enjoy modest power and torque gains. Also, the downside to that was you had to use premium gas, or you'd suffer the dreaded knock. Had to never let the dealer flash it, or you'd have to spend 99 bucks plus duty to have it re-done. Do these boosters see that much gain, or is it comparable to using Sport mode to pass and merge? (Too bad Toyota didn't use the powertrain setup we have in our '16 Avalon, that beast is a rocket ship on 4 wheels...)

There is zero hp or toque gain. This is not a remapped ECM. This plugs in line between the throttle pedal and the connector for the throttle pedal. It’s single only function to amplify the your throttle input signal to tell the ECM your asking for more throttle faster. This only modifies that one single input signal to trick the engine into applying more throttle sooner. You’ll also find quite a few people who have had issues with these controllers causing throttle faults and putting the vehicle into limp mode until it can be cleared.

As @Agent_Outside said, no power gain.

One of the first things I noticed when we took our 4Runner for a drive on the way to Whistler, was the lack of quick response when I stepped on the throttle. Just installed the Sprint Booster and all I can say is wow. Should have made that mod sooner.
I would recommend the Sprint Booster.

I sold mine. After having it on I did not think I needed. I had mine set at Green 5 and then put it at 2. Just my opinion I did not like when you stepped it down it would really rev faster than normal. If I need to drive something faster lol I will jump in my 19 Z06. 650 Supercharged.

No hp/tq gain, but it really makes the truck a pleasure to drive. If the lazy throttle response bothers you as much as it does me (and lots of others), it's money well spent. Think of all the other goofy stuff we buy just for fun - wheels, tires, LED lights, etc. - and this can make sense if you're looking for better driveability.

I totally agree with you. The 4runner was a slug. Even our 4 banger Subaru was much more responsive.

Yeah for me its not about driving fast or racing. First and yes no BS, I drive with a lite pedal and SB allows the tranny to kick down sooner and with mine set at red 5 i'm getting better mpg. added bonus is when I need to merge in traffic there is no lag, just go. For those that say they can push the pedal as fast as SB does it....they are mistaken

I have several MOD'S on my 2019 from power folding mirrors to LED tail lights, to Power lift gate, to Viper via cell phone remote start or Toyota gun safe to the Speed booster. Let me tell you if I had to pick the #1 MOD, I would pick the speed booster as my #1, then It would be my remote start. I live here in NOVA and I need it for the winter. I used my Speed Booster on Sport 9. I removed the pig tail so as not to be messing with the settings. Enjoy! PS. Think of Speed Booster as Viagra for your truck! 1 to 3 miles improved gas mileage!

How long have you had your SB for? Any issues?
I'm thinking of getting one but a little reluctant due issues that may happen in the long run with ECU ‍♂️

I have read about Pedal Commander issues before.
Just doing my due diligence and research before buying.
