What kind of shift knob do you have on your Ventures?

What kind of shift knob do you guys have on your Ventures? It took me a week to realize that I have the non TRD shift knob on mine unlike the ORPs that I saw at the dealer. Not a big deal but it's little odd that Toyota wouldn't use the same shifter on the Venture since it's based on the ORP. As far as I know ORs have the TRD shifter as well. Couple of the Venture reviews I saw on YouTube also had non TRD shift knobs.

It also took me 3 days to realise that you can't lower the rear window from the remote like my 4th gen...

Mine is a non-TRD shifter. Also, I want to say none of the 2020's can lower the rear window with the remote. It was a bummer for me too.

I also have the non-TRD shifter in mine, which I like. Toyota probably just wanted to do something minor to distinguish it from the ORP without having to design a new one.

Yeah. Except putting the same shift knob as the SR5 is not the best way to go about it.

So what is the best way??

A wonderful thing about shift knobs is that they are easily replaceable.

I guess Toyota needed to come up with a Venture shift knob to keep V owners happy.

The venture is a cosmetically modified SR5 premium, not an Off Road Premium. That’s my understanding.

I was bummed. Because I wanted an Off-Road premium in the colors of the Ventures. Sales trick, I think. People that want/need the off-road are gonna get the off-road for its off-road features. The two extra Venture colors will help them sell more SR5’s.

I miss the window button! It was so nice to roll the window down and be able to reach in as soon as you reached the 4runner.

does the SR5 premium have a rear locker? The venture does so I’d say it’s closer to a OR then it is to an SR5. There’s also no special colors on a venture that’s not already offered on the OR.

maybe you’re thinking of these new 2021 trail models that are a glorified SR5 in special colors?

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
Pretty sure the Venture is an Off Road Premium with a Yakima basket and black trim pieces.

^^ This exactly. And gunmetal TRD wheels.

KDSS is also an option on the Venture, as with the Off-Road models.

Yep I was wrong. I was thinking of the Trails, as you suggest.

Trd pro grill, Trd skid plate, trd led foglamps, trd exhaust, led hi and low beam headlights, full led interior lights, raptor grill lights, eibach lift kit, rsg sliders, falken wildpeak 275 tires, oem black hood scoop, tinted windows. More to come
I replaced my shift knob the first week I owned my Venture. I bought the all black trd shift knob. Easy install, looks and feels great but pretty pricey for a shift knob IMO.
