Are you changing the color of your interior or just trying to update it?

I'm not a fan of the wood trim either, I have a 2001 4runner and I don't have the wood trim. Not sure if the trim option differs from year to year. Sorry wish I was more helpful.

Use a heat gun to remove it and alcohol and elbow grease to remove the residue. Reshine with plastix if it comes out looking good or sand and paint it if it looks janky.

If you are handy and have the time, paint it, but make sure you have everything you need before you start especially if this is your only vehicle cuz stuff will be tore up for a bit and after you paint it you don't want to be putting it in and pulling it out. Everything you need to know about that is on YouTube. This is my first t4r and I knew alot of nothing about everything but found out with a little digging. Check out my 3rd gen build on this site under my username Atomic Punk 70 it's labeled "My 2001 t4r build" Shows just about everything I have done so far! Good luck and if you run into any problems!!
