    None... Yet :)
    Hey everyone,

I'm new here so apologize if this has been fully addressed.

I just obtained my first ever 4runner and I'm stoked to be part of the family. I decided on the Venture addition due to the newer TRD rims and wanted the Yakima roof rack. And to be honest, I got quite the steal on pricing!

My first two "mods" I'm looking at doing are:
    - All Terrain tires (4runner Venture comes with all seasons)
    - Rock Sliders

I'm awfully new to offroading, but want to hit the ground running. I've been told that I should definitely get some sliders before I do any offroading.

Any suggestions on sliders that are affordable armor for my Venture and are able to be installed by a couple hours of work myself in my garage?

I'd also love any tips, mod suggestions for beginners, and anything else you can think of.

    I appreciate all insight!

Don't let anyone tell you what to change on your truck. Take it out and determine that for yourself, along with doing research. These trucks are plenty capable stock. I've seen far too many people bog down their 4Runner with $10K (and 800 lbs) of gear just to drive down fire roads. Don't spend money needlessly. Take your time, research, and enjoy it.

    Welcome to the forum!

Depending on the type of off-roading you will be doing, tires might be all that's needed. They have decent ground clearance and a solid drivetrain.

I have RSG sliders and am very happy with them. There are numerous options, and I really haven't heard anything bad about any of them.

Aside from sliders, aftermarket skids will provide protection if you're going to play in the rocks. These aren't always a necessity, though. You'll have to figure that out based on the trails you intend to hit.

These things turn into money pits quickly if you let them.

    Enjoy!

    Welcome!

I also have a 2020 Venture. Mods I've done so far:

    - Tinted the front two windows to match the back (30%)
    - Interior LED's
    - H9 low beams
    - Center console organizer
    - Dash cam (gotta protect that investment!)

All those mods are low cost and really help quality of life, so I highly recommend all of them.

I'm planning on putting an aftermarket TRD Pro grille on once Overland Depot comes out with their 2020 model. Mine came with Nitto Terra Grappler (All Terrain) tires. I'm also pretty new to offroading, but they seem to do the job. I've done a little light offroading and they've held up so far. Mine also came with OEM Predator steps. Big fan of how they look.

Welcome!! I just purchased a 20 ORP and currently working on building stuff myself. Like previously mentioned, the stock 4Runner (with the addition of better tires) is a perfectly capable machine.

There are many good build threads within the site and might give you ideas as to your build location. TRD also makes performance parts for your vehicle such as exhaust. I recently did the Rav4 mirror swap; adds a blind spot to the side mirrors. Take it slow and steady, attempt the off-roasting your comfortable with and adjust the vehicle to fit those needs

Good luck and remember TRD stickers are the fastest way to HP gain! Cheers

Congrads on the new Venture. I'm in a similar situation as you. Got a Venture last week and ordered the sliders and low beams yesterday. Tints are next and after 6-12 months suspension/tires.

    Welcome from Arizona.
I did the 2 things you mentioned already: Falken Wildpeak AT 3 tires and RSG sliders. Who knows what comes next?

Too many mods and too much money
Welcome! Post up some more pictures when you get a chance. I have to echo Tory's sentiment, pay attention to how much weight your going to add in armor and other mods. They will limit your mileage dramatically. My truck weighs almost 1k lbs over stock, no regrets, but it does limit your range and your fuel budget. And can have adverse effects on your handling if not paired with the right suspension.
