Hi everyone. Long time Toyota fans here. We are coming from first gen Tacomas which we still own. Just purchased a Pro Tacoma a month ago and got a heck of a deal on. Wife fell in love with a Pro 4Runner.

Best deal I have found was sticker 52800 which was used by the owner of the dealer and has 2500 miles. They will do $53k out the door. Most places won't budge more than 500-800 under sticker. For example $51700 sticker and $51200 is price they gave me. Whats crazy is, I just got a TRD Pro with about $4500 in discounts. The same dealer won't budge on the 4Runner.

Hard enough finding a decent deal. Then you have the southeast distribution center adding all these valueless add ons. Then on top of that, the dealer themselves adding silly add ons. Add a dealer fee etc and suddenly you have a very very expensive 4runner lol.

If anyone is in Florida or knows a good dealer/salesman, please let me know. Resdy to purchase immediately! Any input/experience is appreciated!

Welcome! I'm no help here except for advising you to talk her out of the Pro. The general consensus which you probably know, is it's a lot of appearance packaging. The roof rack is a take it or leave it look for some people and it's not very big either. There are no Pros at my local dealer in East Central Florida. Seems like they've jacked the prices up on the Premium and Off Road recently as well. You may have to look around the country to find a used one that is any cheaper. Here is the other question you have to ask, Will she ever use the Locking rear diff and the traction aides? If not then buy an SR5 and put some aftermarket TRD rims and tires on it and save 8 to 10k. Good Luck!

^^^^So true. I had all the options on my 07. But used 4WD maybe 2-3x per year, even in the snow belt. Its alot of added cost and maintenance if it breaks. Honestly, my 2016 is a highway and vacation vehicle at this point. If you are going to take it off road often, or live in harsh terrain, go for it.

BTW F the dealer fees. In this market they are negotiable. Tell em you are looking at one in SC or GA, where they cant do these fees and they will probably cut em out. Thats what I just did last month. NC has them too.

Thanks everyone for the info. We do alot of trailing, and have a summer home way up in the mountains (where cars would never make it) so they get used as intended for sure. We use to love to do our own mods etc, but with work and 3 kids... those days are over. We prefer to keep them stock. We are lucky enough to use these are company cars too, so might as well get the Pro.

Not sure about Florida, but on the west coast 4runner tend to hold their value incredibly well and sell like hot cakes at MSRP or below. I’d say from my knowledge, that’s a horrible deal. You can always try to get one shipped in, cost is around $500-$600 that I’ve seen for some bigger dealers.

Sorry but 2500 miles no matter who drove it is used.

Tell um to beat it trying to sell you at sticker.

I told them the same thing. But the 2500 miles may work to my advantage since its the only good deal I have found sorta. Sticker is 52800, and they told me $49200. Then called me back and sold me $53k out the door.

I agree. The fact that I got such a good deal on my Tacoma has me a bit jaded ha!

My local dealer won't budge 51700 sticker. 51200 they told me.

I'd let it sit for a couple weeks, if it sells so be it. If they know your wife wants it, they won't budge any time soon. Very good point about mileage as well, that in itself should negate their "handling fee" of $1120. Wondering why Southeast Toyota has these states singled out: The Delivery, Processing and Handling Fee in AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MS, NC, OK, SC and TX will be higher.

Geez. So they sold the Santa Fe location and opened up in St Augustine? Their website shows a couple of pros but I found that when they don't show real pictures, then they don't really have it.

Yup, I'm not sure what the sequence was for sure. I think they opened up in St. Augustine, sold the Santa Fe dealership and opened another dealership in Cumming, GA. Good luck with your search for what you want. Patience is not one of my virtues, but....

What is it about the pro that she likes so much? I bet it’s not the shocks...

The capability of the Off Road is likely to serve your needs and more. Buy an OR Premium at a discount and switch to the Pro wheels and roof rack if that’s what she likes. More color options, too, and save a bunch of money?

Totally understand if you just want quick and easy, but you sound like you’re looking for some advice...

    and welcome to the forum!

I just wanted to report back. We got one! Currently in the smokies hitting up the trails with my Pro Taco. Next time we will take her new 4runner up :)

Fellow member was actually a salesman. Got a new one delivered 1 day after making this post. Fresh off the truck. Had them deliver it with the stickers still on lol!

Some pictures from our trip so far.
