Hey everyone, has anyone put a light bar behind the hole in the front bumper? I thought this would be a popular mod for such a popular off road machine, but I can't seem to find no drill/bolt on brackets for them anywhere (for the 2nd gen). I know for the current gen 4Runner and Tacoma this is a super common mod, even among the mall rated breeds.

    Anyways, here's my questions:
    1) If you've got a light bar behind the bumper, post a picture and explain how you mounted it.
    2) If you have a link to somewhere that makes a bolt on bracket, post it for me please!
    3) If I were to fabricate no drill brackets to mount a light bar behind the bumper, would anyone be interested in buying them?

Thanks in advance for the responses!

I've seen these, they generally come with light bars when you buy them. I've just never been a big fan of them, and don't want to drill into the truck if I can avoid it. Thanks for the quick response though!

I have a 92 Toyota pickup so same as your 95 4runner and there isn't much for existing holes to mount a light bar in the gaps of the valance. I've lost the valance off my pickup on several wheeling trips. I don't know how well it would hold a light bar.

Here's the holes I'm thinking of using for the brackets I'm fabbing up. I wouldn't plant anything onto the plastic valence if I wanted it to last lol

I've got a good idea of what I'd like to do. The main reason for starting the thread was to see if anyone else had a different solution, kind of pick the brains of others that have had and been around the trucks longer than me (only about 2 weeks now).

I would personally mount it up higher. Maybe behind the grill or come up with a custom grill with a light bar in it. Theres no protection for the light bar from the valence. They are flimsy as we have already established. And I feel you lose a lot of light spread having it mounted that low to the ground.

We MIG welded some custom made brackets made from steel strip to the frame horns for the bumper and trimmed out the sheet metal valance on my son's 1990. LED light bar puts out a large number of lumens with very good down road and wide spread. Just look at the difference between the headlights and the bar in broad day light. Also take note of the valence trim my son did to the area in front of the wheels for unobstructed approach angle. Spot on stuff!
