Quick question I just moved to Arizona and noticed when I’m in neutral my 4Runner my oil pressure drops way lower then a normal day I believe it’s due to the oil thinning due to the heat. Does any one know if I should go to a thicker oil? I run 10w-40 right now. Thanks

Well its in the 5th gen section so yeah.

But I honestly wouldn't worry about it in neutral. Just make sure you are filled up.

A 5th gen doesn’t use 10w-40 or have an oil pressure gauge (standard), so yeah....

Ok so 3VZE. The oil pressure in my 3VZE in warm temps and having run for a while sits right above the 1/4 line maybe a little lower if sitting at a stop light for a while. 10w-40 is the correct oil. I also find that different oil filters will change where my pressure gauge sits. For best results use the Toyota filter.

Damn well I assumed people post in the right section.

Figured he had a scan gauge or similar.

Never used that before. How low does your pressure gauge read?

I wouldn't use that stuff in anything. It's thick as molasses and all it does is raise viscosity a lot.

That’s not the worst I’ve seen. What is your idle speed? Warm idle should be 8-9 hundred RPM.
