2000 SR5 (first car for my son)

Surprised my son with his first car last week. A 2000 SR5 with 170,000 miles. He turns 16 in 2 months and with lockdown, we have been able to practice driving a lot. He also has time to clean it up and make it his as you can see with the photos. I want to thank everyone on here as I have been looking for a nice 4Runner (our second) for months and this forum has been a huge help.

That's awesome. Learning the beginnings of auto maintenance on the '01 my Dad got me when I was 15. I'm now 28 and still driving it. Fantastic find!

 

I am jealous, OP. That's a sharp looking first vehicle for a student. I was looking through my senior yearbook (01) and realized one of the other seniors had one from the same generation. My first car was a 87 Camry with a cracked and leaking power steering rack. Haha.

Looks good. I have 2019 SR5 and a 6 month old son. I hope mine last as long as yours so I can pass it down to him too.

GOOD DAD. I gave my son my old 06 Trailblazer when he started last year. He's forgiven me now.

 

Hopefully we don't have to call you Grandpa a year or two from now...
