What I did

Today I scrubbed and detailed my rims because over the past 3 days it has been raining alot. I figured it would have softened up the grime and yep it did, so along with this new cleaner I bought to try, it's called Black Magic and in my opinion it turned out mint w/o any aggressive scrubbing!!

After that, I started the next project on my list. I'm replacing both the positive and the negative battery cables on my 2001 t4r SR5 4wd.
Next, I am going to get rid of some of the cigarette lighter ports and install a voltmeter and some USB chargers. I'll post before and after photos when I get rolling on that.

Right now with all the shit going on what else am I going to do?? I have figured out how to do it on the cheap! I order stuff on line so I don't have to go anywhere. It's really more time than money at this point. I'm kinda freshening up some of my 20 yr old electrical and adding some new also.

similar situation down here, all state borders are closed and social gatherings limited to 2 people, a lot of the other states here in Australia are under complete self isolation, but we have a bit of freedom up here in the NT, enough to go out 4WDing at least

 

Up here it's known as the Pipeline, my daughter is more familiar with that then l am! She has a Ford explorer 2dr that is set up for complete 4wd-ing!
Tbt this is the 1st 4wd vehicle I have ever owned and I'm a little gun-shy about taking mine out, I haven't had it long enough to be ok with that.

 

just slowly build your confidence up, i've been 4wding for a few years and I started off going on tracks with potholes and slowly progressed by challenging myself.

@Atomic Punk 70 - I'll be hitting the Pipeline once a month or so starting in June, when it opens. I've run most of the trail in a stock off-road woth BFG KO2's. You're welcome to join me sometime.

Depending on how things are going, there's a group camping trip in August at Boulder Lake campgrounds. It's all in the air right now, though.

There's talk of the Pipeline getting shut down completely. I have to look into it. If you want to explore it, get the Motor Vehicle Usage map for the Lakewood/Laona district. It shows which vehicles are allowed where, and when. You can download the maps from the forest service website and use a GPS app like Avenza maps if you prefer digital.

For sure! I'll have to see what kind of restrictions there are going to be, but I'm super excited to get back up there!

I'll have to look at dates and figure out when I can get free. I usually do a day trip, but I would love to camp if anyplace is open.

There's a few different areas I like to hit. One section starts at Buck's Ranch road. Others are broken into sections down towards HWY 64. I like to hop around and go through whatever is open and isn't too muddy.

 

I meant what area of the state?Like county. I live in North Eastern Will. I have a hwy 64 about 20min north of me.

 

Oh, gotcha. Lakewood is probably the closest city.

There is a section of the trail south of 64, and a bunch of sections to the north. I generally run the sections to the north, but had fun in the sand and puddles last year off of Sleeter Road. I might try to go through there again this year. The northern sections run by Thunder Mountain state natural area.

Shit man, Lakewood is probably a 40min drive from me! I live on the Oconto River and if you want we could use this as kind of a base camp. Do you typically roll by yourself or with a club? The property is large enough to accommodate about 10 trucks and any equipment they might bring, but not trailers or big campers, a bunch of pop ups would be fine though. Tents no problem. So parking, fire pit and right on the river. So whatever, just throwing it out there! That would take some serious planning though!

That's awesome! My brother has fished the Oconto for smallmouth bass.

I go solo a lot as I tend to just take off when other plans fall through, or I just have a free Saturday.

When I do have others along, most of us camp in our trucks, or roof-top tents. No trailers or anything big, usually. Most guys are set up for overlanding, so they're pretty self-contained.

In August, I have a site reserved at Boulder Lake. Nothing is certain right now, so I have no idea who is coming on that trip. Last year, it was just me and 10 Tacomas from Tacomaworld. I've posted it in the Midwest forums here, and it's been posted on Tundras.com. I'm not going to worry about that for another month or so, though.

 

Yeah the fishing is great! I'm located just below the dam so when the Walleye run it gets pretty crazy around here!
Well please keep me posted on that! Not sure if I will be ready to go. I put 2in wheel spacers on and it appears I should have done the 2.5in lift first cuz I have some tire rubbing going on right now. I'm just doing a spacer lift for now till I can get a real suspension lift. So keep me in mind, ok? Thanks man.
