I removed my Shrockworks sliders after having them installed for 2 months. I'm not sure if the China virus has completely destroyed my business enough to keep the 4 Runner. I had a buyer so I decided to take them off. That extra 90lbs off the vehicle is very noticeable. I also never got used to having them get in my way when getting in the 4 Runner. It looks taller because the Shrockworks sat so low. If I ever did it again I would buy angled ones.

I’m a stickler for weight. It really adds up and affects everything especially mileage and handling. Aluminum is the way to go for me although I completely understand why some guys need steel. Huge trade off, though, with that choice, imho

This was pretty much just quarantine busy work; but installed a 1/2” coil spacer on the driver side rear this morning. There’s usually around .5-1” of lean on that side, depending on how full the tank is. Didn’t really totally bother me, but spacers spacers are cheap, and it gave me something to do, lol.

Also have some shocks and sliders on order that I’m hoping will arrive this week (the shocks at least anyways, as I’m leaving it mostly disassembled in the rear for now until they show up).

Installed Diode Dynamics SS3 LED Fog Light Kit in my 20 TRD ORP. The passenger side is a little aggravating to install. Pretty happy with the lights.

I found when I just replace bulbs to LED that the Pax side was easier, just reached up & R&R bulb, not inner fender removal like D/S.
What are those 4 green lighted dots on the floor from? Doesn't the Pro have a Black Valence?:notsure:

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
I ordered one on the 13th and it should be here on the 18th. Not too bad.

The green lights are from the camera on my iPhone.

I think the Pro does have a black valence. I have an Off Road with the X Series package.

OK ! When I 1st bought my 22018 TRD OR I thought the ORP stood for Off Road Package, that why I asked about the valance on yours. What's in the "X Series" Package?? Never hear of that one before??

The X Series is offered in the south east. The one I have does not have the Pro grill but came with many of the pro trim pieces.

They look nice and I do appreciate aluminum TIG and craftsmanship (I grew up welding a lot of it in Dad's shop). However, I'd really hesitate using them as anything other than side steps. I think you can get away with using aluminum skids in medium duty applications, as they are bolted directly to the pieces they are protecting. But sliders are like outriggers on the sides of the frame, and because of that they need to take extreme amounts of leveraged force in order to do their job. Even Greenlane says: "*Will protect vehicle from rocker/door damage but not designed to be used as a high lift jack point." That means they'll bend if all or most of the vehicle weight is bearing on them, which is 90% of a slider's job (the other is preventing door dings in mall parking lots).

Also, steel will actually "slide" better than aluminum. Aluminum is stickier and will gall up in bunches, which can arrest forward movement. Steel is tougher and will scrape/slide much easier. That's why Hefty Fab offers HDPE (high density polyethylene) add-ons for their aluminum skids for heavier duty use.
