My’18 SR5 (bought used) does not have a single USB port in it. My question is can I install one in the blank where one should be an have it connected to the factory head unit?? Or do I have to go another route? I have seet The factory units updated but I seem to not have that option. Any info is greatly appreciated thanks

Did you look in the glove box? Some moved them from the dash into the slot inside there

Actually I have not looked for one in there. Never crossed my mind that they would move it to that perfect location:( I will look as soon as the wife returns

That seems unusual. I have a USB port, but it doesn't charge my phone. I don't know why they wouldn't have one. It seems like it should be pretty standard. Although, Toyota seems to always be a little behind on tech stuff. Heck, my '03 had a frickin' tape deck!

ForRun you are the best! It is right where you say it was. I may have owned that thing for years before I found it. Lol. Ok I’m assuming since TheBassguy (James) says his USB doesn’t charge the phone. Therefore the reason for hiding it in the glove box cuz it is only for the radio!???

Yeah, it will play music, but doesn't charge the phone. I usually use Bluetooth, but last summer I wanted to charge the phone while using the 12V outlet for a CB. Unfortunately, it wouldn't charge the phone, so I wound up unplugging the CB. Kinda lame.

yes I also use the Bluetooth for music but is nice to know it is there and available to play music. Makes no sense for it not to charge tho. I do have a 12v outlet in dash and one in the console cubby also. There actually looks as if there is a blank spot in the glove box next to the USB port for a 12v outlet too

Yes. I am thankful for that and that I found it. Will soon be lookin to put new wheels/tires and a lil lift to the 4R. Which I have been trying to read up on already. Just wanna make sure I put the right combo as to not have any issues
