Left Keys in Driver Door - 2009 sport edition

    I have a 2009 4runner sport edition. I accidentally left the keys in the drive side door. I left and my car horn starting blaring continuously. Is this a known warning signal that 4runners have if you leave your keys in the driver side door? Or is something else going on with my car?

    Side note, the alarm continued to blare until it either ran out or the wires fried... There was light smoking coming from the horn when I returned home. The smoke stopped, and I disconnected the battery entirely.

    Any help/advise would be appreciated!
