    Hi Everyone,

I am new to this site and recently purchased a 2010 4Runner Trail and planned to change the front end to the updated 2017 model. This would include the headlights, grill assembly, bumper, fog lights. The part numbers are:

    Fog lights trim: TO1039173
    Bumper: 52119-35912
    Grill assembly: 53101-35080-B0
    Headlights: TO2518150, TO2519150

Has anybody else attempted this conversion? If so, were there any challenges preventing the new bumper fitting on the older model?

    Thanks

:popcorn::popcorn: I’m interested in converting my 2012 limited to the latest model trail as well. I haven’t started any of it as yet, though. Thanks for providing the part numbers. Please keep me posted.

Ah man, please don't. The 10-13 Trail is probably the nicest looking 4R there is. You're going to go from a distinctive, classic look to a vomit inducing space-bro front end.

If you just can't not do it, come by my house, I'll give you my shit and put your old skool front end on my '17. Offer good for either super white or MGM...I have both...

i did it on my 2011 just because i came up on a deal on a 14+ front and rear end. You'll also need to get the 14+ bumper reinforcement along with a few brackets that the bumper clips into. If you google it you'll come across other peoples threads with exact part numbers and where to get them the cheapest. Once you have all the necessary parts, its all plug and play from there. Only thing you'll need to modify is one of the sockets for the lights which is super easy. I cant remember if it was the drl/turn signal.... Good luck!

Lol. You’re funny. You’ve convinced me to leaving the 4Runner as is. Thanks for your advice.

I agree with @MeefZah , the '10-13 front ends are the best looking 4 to date. I own the newer one and I am not as much of a fan of the front end as the '10-13's

Do I need to buy a bumper reinforcement for the conversion or can I leave mine on? I have a 2011 4Runner sr5 and I’m not looking to spend 300 on a bumper reinforcement

You’ll need the bumper bar from 14+. Usually you can purchase these used for under $100 or free. Guys who did the metal bumper no longer need this.
