Bump stops, suspension, terrain

How many are doing aftermarket bump stops with their new suspensions? If so, what brand shocks and bumpstops are you running? Also, what type of offroad terrain are you most likely to be on?

 

I'm still running stock bumps on mine, but I know a lot of people are running Durobumps now.

DuroBumps are the shiznit! Far better than Wheelers Superbumps or any other rubber bumpstops.

 

Awesome guys! I agree, I want to protect my suspension. I was worried no one on the forum was going respond and it didn't seem like most were running them. I'll definitely look into the durobumps. They sound perfect for Moab and Baja.

 

Yeah. For those at risk of bottoming out fairly often, good bumps stops are key. For daily drivers that never get the full travel out of their suspension, it's not really worth that investment.

 

these are recommended also for the front (yes, it says rear in descrip). Mine are in the mail, will know for sure soon.

 

I didn’t do any off-road with my 4Runner but I did find the suspension bottoming out when I towed my ATV/trailer. It was a relatively light load but none the less I would bottom out. Additionally when I had my family loaded up with the trunk space filled it would bottom out. One of the first mods I did was to install the Wheeler’s Offroad super bumps and they were awesome. Much more comfortable when hitting the bump stops. The ride was much smoother but ultimately I had to install airbags. The airbags and aftermarket shocks lessened the benefits of them because the truck was not bottoming out as much if ever...
