I recently purchased a Grease Gun from Lock N Lube to lube my drive shaft. It has a Max PSI of 5000. A friend of mine recommended a more heavy duty Grease Gun with a Max PSI of between 7000 to 8000. Do you I really need a grease gun that puts out that much PSI? Or my 5000 PSI grease gun should work just fine?

    I'm sure you'll be fine.

Mine's rated for 6,000psi and I had zero issues.

I didn't even realize grease guns had a PSI rating! Any old shitbox grease gun will work fine.

I didn't know that either until my friend pointed it out. Here's the one he has.

Here's the one I bought. The yellow one is rated at 8000 PSI the green one is at 5000 PSI.

In my opinion I really don't think you need a HIGH PSI Grease Gun for 4Runner drive shaft like some of you said any will do. I'm just asking to make sure and to see what are your thoughts about the heavy duty grease guns.

How much PSI does it take to push that grease into the zerks? I'm sure 8000 is whole lot of push right?
