Would you mind to post more photos of the front? I was thinking about blacking the chrome out on my blue Limited as well and can't find many photos.

Also which size tyres and lift do you have?

I wrapped most of the chrome in flat black. was not cheap. I am going to do my door handles my self and add light smoked headlight vinyl to the headlights and taillights

Are you happy going from the 20" to 17" wheels? I bet it rides a lot better.
Btw I love your color. I wish we could have found one in that color! I like what you have done with it.

It definitely is a softer ride depending on psi. I run then at 33 psi currently. I picked up the TRD offroad wheels for $200 from a dealership locally. It was the most cost effective way to go to 17". I am running some 275's on it now. Very slight rubbing on full lock

People love those wheels because the valve stem is protected by the wheel. You got a great buy for $200. You can powder coat them any color you want for a custom look. Great find!

I have been wondering about powder coating costs. I do plan on wrapping the silver parts of the wheel in a dark grey metallic that I got from vvivid. I have been practicing vinyl wrapping on different things, not as easy as it looks on youtube.

Ever try plastidip for an inexpensive way to test colors? I have plastidipped wheels that last years & still look new! Just a thought.
Best of luck & start a build thread.

i was wondering about the durability of plastidipping wheels. Thanks for the tip. And I will start a build thread, had not thought of that. I will be doing a bunch of photos and hopefully a video of running new speaker wire through the pesky door jam molex connectors. Without drilling holes! I found a thread where a guy found the actual pins to just add into the connector OEM style

For pro tips on plastidipping wheels check out DYC (Dip Your Car) on YouTube.
Here is a link to him dipping wheels.
    https://youtu.be/AFYX_5cS1go
We always take the wheel off & use tire shine on the tires to prevent them from sticking!
It is super easy & fun. If you mess up you are out maybe $20.
Watch a few of his videos for more tips. Get those wheels spotless and dry or the plastidip will bubble!
Best of luck & cannot wait to see your build thread.
    Ryan.
*edit* you need about 10 coats. First should be 50% coverage & build from there getting every angle. It self levels but watch for runs!

He is the mastermind behind the dip scene. The actual product is owned by Permatex! Ever heard of them? They make anti-seze along with a lot of other "garage items" I think they know what to do & how to do it right. We bought the turbine system & love it!

Would love to see what you do with the wheels. I've been tossing around the idea of painting the silver parts gray and leaving the black parts. Not sure how I was going to do it though.

Keep us posted on what you decide and pics are always appreciated!

this is what I got for wheel vinyl
VVIVID auto release rim air-release adheshive vinyl wrap 24 inch x 30 inch 4 shhet pack ( matte Mettallic Charcoal )
3M Knifeless finish line vinyl wrap cutting tape 50 meter roll fr stripes and more
I have messed around with the knifeless vinyl cutting tape when I wrapped my tool box at work.
Im hoping I can carefully use it to outline the silver parts of the Offroad wheel and then apply the vinyl then just leave a nice clean edge.
AS soon as this Covid 19 shit has past I will start making some you tube videos for all these projects I have cooking.

LFD Off-road ruggedized crossbars, love the fit and finish and little things about it that make install super straight forward, even with me being OCD about spacing and Having to take the fairing off once, it still only took 30 minutes with a single 5mm Allen. That’s it’s. Love the modular nature to be able to keep adding bars as needed,

Also my homemade sleeping platform leveler- 22 piece of wood and 28 bucks of adhesive carpet.

oh it’s not much at all, just a 41x43” (I have some canvas back on the sidewalks so your measurements may vary) piece of sanded 3/4” plywood. Then I bought cheap carpet tiles (like .90 a tile cheap) from flooringsinc. I went with “gunmetal” color- it’s close but perhaps a touch light, a standard black or charcoal might match closer. It took about 12 18x18inch tiles, but I’m a cut twice measured once type so maybe you could get by with 10?- it’s all made of solidly sticky adhesive so goes on easy to the wood, easily trimmed with a box knife.

when I first laid the bare wood down it was perfectly flush with the backseats when folded down (with seat lowers left in). Now after adding carpet (which is only about 1/8” of inch thick on each side of board) I can’t seem to get it to sit flush where I had it before the carpet- a bit perplexed by this.

anyway, it’s not perfect, but it’s kind of close, and it was dirt cheap.

I’m not running any frame at all, just the plywood. I do lay into on top of my 4runner rubber mat tray thing, and I do have my summer carpet mats under that as well, so some lift being provided by those as well, but again you may need/want 2x2 underneath, and again, I still can’t figure out how I put it in without carpet such that it was basically flush with the backseats down, but now with just 1/4” in carpet it has a 1/2-3/4” lip, so I’m still working out the kinks.

No lift. I replaced the limited rocker panel covers with the SR5 ones. That makes it look 3 inches taller
